Family Funeral Directors

Binder & Sons First opened its doors to the Public with an opening day celebration and Chapel blessing in April 2016. We have since been working hard to provide the best possible care to each family whom has entrusted us with the care and funeral arrangements of their loved ones.

Who are we? We are a family run independent funeral directors with long running ties to the local community. Wayne Binder began working within the funeral industry right out of school, working within some of the bigger companies. He became a police officer with the Essex police then on to the Metropolitan police service back in 2004, serving 12 years on the force, until the time came for him to open his very own funeral directors. Wayne has always had a passion for working within this industry and has always striven to provide the best possible care to families and even when told its impossible. He works hard to ensure the families can pretty much get everything they need to give their loved ones the best possible service, this is why, even when serving within the police force, he still kept his foot within the funeral industry and soon began training as an embalmer and was working alongside other funeral directors.

The time came for Wayne and his wife Sam to open their own company, with the help and support from family, the dream became a reality in 2016.

Why are we different? We are a small company with big plans, our aim is to challenge the rising costs of funerals to keep our prices lower, whilst providing a high quality service to our families. Losing a loved one is an extremely difficult time for any family and we offer the kind of assistance, support and service that we would expect for our own family in the same situation.
