As part of organ donation week, Invictus Complex Care will be raising awareness for staff and members of the public. Please watch the short but powerful video linked below regarding organ donation.

🔹For every 1 person who opts in, up to 9 peoples lives could be saved.
🔹In May of 2020, the law around organ donation was changed to the opt out system, it is now considered that you agree to become an organ donor when you die, if : you are over 18, have not opted out and are not in an excluded group. This allows more people to save more lives. 🦸‍♂️

Choose to save a life today, by opting in on the organ donation register.

We are currently recruiting for a support worker for 2 shifts per week in the Totton area. This is a maternity cover basis until April 2026.

Winter is on it's way ❄☃

And whilst cosy evenings on the sofa with a hot chocolate in front of the fire sounds wonderful, it does also mean cold and flu season is on the way 😫.
Protect yourself, your loved ones and those you work with this year by having the Flu and Covid-19 vaccinations.
From the 1st October you can book your vaccinations through your GP, Pharmacy or through the NHS website- don't forget to tell them you are a Health and social care worker and show them your ID badge.

Invictus Complex Care are joining in with Macmillan Coffee morning this year on Friday 26th September. We will be donning our aprons and baking up a storm in the kitchen, all money raised will be going to Macmillan Cancer Support.

📣Today is World Sepsis Day 📣

Here at Invictus Complex Care, we like to raise awareness of staff and members of the public around these important matters.

What is Sepsis?

Sepsis arises when the body's response to an infection injures its own tissues and organs, this can lead to shock, multi-organ failure and even death- especially if not recognised early and treated promptly.

Did you know:

👉 There are 47-50 million cases of sepsis per year
👉 1 in 5 deaths worldwide is associated with sepsis
👉 Sepsis is the number 1 cause of death in hospitals
👉 40% of cases are children under 5
👉 Up to 50% of survivors suffer from long-term physical and/or psychological affects

Sepsis is always caused by an infection like pneumonia, urine infections or diarrheal illness

Sepsis is a medical emergency, so if you or someone you know shows symptoms, seek medical advice immediately.

Every 90 minutes, someone in the UK or Ireland dies by su***de and 1 in 4 of us has had suicidal thoughts.

In a recent survey conducted by Samaritans:

👉60% of people said their suicidal thoughts had been interrupted by someone close to them, like a friend or family member
👉14% said their suicidal thoughts had been interrupted by a stranger or someone they didn’t know.

An interruption could be a face-to-face conversation, a phone call, text or any other way of connecting with someone when they’re experiencing suicidal thoughts.
