☕️ Tea Talks with Nick – Heel Pain… it’s not always plantar fasciitis 👣
Stepped on Lego? Nick has and it sparked this week’s Tea Talk 👀
Heel pain is something we see all the time in clinic, and one of the biggest misconceptions is that it’s always plantar fasciitis… but that’s not always the case.
In this episode, Nick breaks down 3 common causes of heel pain and how to tell the difference:
🔍 Plantar fasciitis
Pain on the inside of the heel, often worse first thing in the morning and eases as you get moving.
🦶 Fat pad irritation
Tender directly under the heel: think pain with impact (like heel strike) or long periods of standing.
🦴 Calcaneal (heel bone) bruising
Pain when squeezing the heel, hopping, or even throbbing at night.
💡 The tricky part?
You can sometimes have all three at once, which is why getting the right diagnosis matters.
Understanding the type of heel pain is key to getting the right treatment and getting you back to doing what you love.
