Over the past year, our team has been engaged in a multifaceted project in Weston-super-Mare for our Client Octavius Infrastructure, with several tasks still in progress.

Meet Derek Rapson, our new Rail Project Manager, who is set to bring a new level of expertise to our team!

With an impressive 35+ years of experience in rail, highways, and civil engineering, he brings a wealth of knowledge in earthworks, minor civil works, drainage, concrete formwork, and steel fixing, which will undoubtedly enhance our project delivery capabilities.
His extensive background has equipped him with the skills to navigate complex projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
Proven track record of delivering projects ranging from £100k to £200m, with a focus on safety, quality, and commercial awareness, demonstrates his ability to adapt to diverse project requirements.

Now that we've passed the reconstruction stage of the project, pace has gathered at our Thrapston Geotechnical Project, the largest Platipus project in the UK to date, installing over 4,000 anchors to stabilize a protection bund for our client.

With over 25 staff, consisting of Rope Access Technicians and Machine Operators, working sensitively around residents and operating specialist plant, we have maintained a close relationship with those affected and ensured they are part of every stage of the project, ensuring comfort and awareness while maintaining a low level of disruption.

We are pleased to announce that our Rope Access Geotech Division has successfully secured and commenced the largest Platipus Anchors installation project in the UK.

In collaboration with Platipus Anchors, we have developed a bespoke delivery solution to address a significant geotechnical failure for our client, combining rope access techniques with machine-driven systems.

With the expert support and design services of IBEX Consulting Engineers Limited, our joint approach has showcased the capabilities of this innovative system. Leveraging our extensive experience in similar installations, EIS has successfully overlaid previous project expertise to present a comprehensive delivery solution for over 4000 anchors across a 500-meter area.

Although it's still early days, we are excited to see this project unfold and reach its full potential.

Our experienced Rope Access Technicians have maintained a strong presence in the Southern Region since NR CP5, having successfully installed and maintained Remote Condition Monitoring Equipment, contributed to scheme development, and delivered Geotech solutions.
