All my classes (and perhaps normal life for many) are back on fully now until Christmas (there's a scary thought!)
Whether you want to completely reset and balance, or build strength and fitness while calming your nervous system, yoga can help. My classes are different throughout the week to provide something for most people. Yoga is not meant to be scary, and it really does make you FEEL good β€οΈ all classes can be booked, and questions answered, through www.energyogawithhelen.com

As summer holidays and Bank Holidays come to an end and autumn begins to set in once more, we leave behind the full on nature and crazy times of summer. We begin to draw inward again in preparation for the darker months to come.
π
Summer is a time of light, action, and fire, winter is a time of darkness, nurture and drawing inward. Both are necessary for balance, and rather than mourning the warmer, longer, light days, the coming shift of the seasons symbolises a time for us to rest and consolidate, to reflect, heal and evolve ready to live every day to the fullest once again next year.
π
As the days begin to shorten and the temperatures drop, we can enjoy the feeling of boots, woolly hats, and scarves once more. Is there anything more satisfying than an open fire on a cold day? Taking pleasure in the simple pleasures of comfort, safety, and routine as we offer our bodies and minds a chance to counterbalance the preceding months, make repairs, and prepare for surviving the winter ahead. This makes autumn the ideal time to nurture ourselves, our routines, our mental health, and our physical bodies, our connections, our goals, and our priorities.
π
We are nothing but the culmination of what we think and what we do.
π
What we do, we can largely think of as our habits. Where we spend our time, the most valuable commodity we have. Treat your time as precious and do things that raise your vibration, that boost your endorphins (exercise), dopamine (success/reward), serotonin (pleasure/happiness), and oxytocin (love/connection) hormones, whilst eradicating cortisol and adrenaline (long term and short term stress hormones) from your body and nervous system. Tell your body it is safe and nurtured and loved through what you do, and your thoughts will reflect this.
π
Become aware of your patterns in what you do, and what you think. Awareness is the first step to creating new habits and new pathways, and a habit is just something we routinely do, until it becomes so much a part of us that we can't imagine any ever way.
π
We can have lots of healthy habits and patterns, variety is the spice of life after all β¨οΈ just notice how your body feels when you think certain thoughts, or see different people, eat certain foods, or do particular things. Our body always knows, and if it doesn't make us feel good, reflect, contemplate, maybe let things go. If something feels right, safe, homely, this is a good sign that we should plant more of those seeds; prioritising more of those thoughts, foods, people, or things. Let your instincts be your guide and listen to the communication from your body, it'll never lie to you even if we don't like what it's saying.
π
In anticipation and celebration of autumn closing in, prioritise yourself to the point where you love yourself dearly. It can be said that this is the goal of yoga, to love yourself so much that you recognise beyond doubt that you are love itself, not a drop in the ocean but the ocean in a drop. And this starts with self care, nurture, sitting with yourself, opening your body and mind, creating space to be and to listen and cultivate habits and thoughts that work for you, not against you.
