This spring edition captures everything from Buckland in Bloom and Easter celebrations to special birthdays, animal visits, creative activities, community connections and industry awards.

Inside, you’ll find residents planting flowers, painting ducklings, meeting alpacas, celebrating World Book Day, taking part in fitness sessions, welcoming new managers and enjoying plenty of those small moments that make life in our homes feel so personal.

We’re also proud to share some wonderful recognition, including Buckland Care being named one of the UK’s Top 20 Mid-Size Care Home Groups for the third year running, The Firs being named one of the Top 20 Care Homes in the South West, and Willow Bank achieving Two Star Gold Dementia Accreditation.

A huge thank you to our residents, families, teams and local communities for helping make this edition so full of colour, connection and heart.

After putting our brains to the test with a quiz this morning, it was time to celebrate in true Westbank style… 🎉

The Westbank Arms officially opened its doors and we enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of music, dancing, and plenty of laughs with the brilliant Gil leading the way 🎤

From singalongs to a proper knees-up, it was wonderful to see everyone smiling, joining in, and making the most of the celebrations ❤️

Days like this are what it’s all about!

🌞 Wake Up Wednesday at Westbank! 🌞

This morning was full of smiles, laughter, and teamwork as we enjoyed a lively Wake Up Wednesday session with our residents 💙

A huge shoutout to Jude and Caroline from our laundry team who joined in the fun – showing that at Westbank, it truly is a whole team approach! 👏 From bouncing balloons to parachute games, everyone got involved and helped create such a positive, energising start to the day.

Moments like these highlight how every member of our team plays a part in enriching the lives of our residents – it’s not just care, it’s connection, fun, and community 🥰

🎶 Smiles, laughter, and music filled every corner of Westbank! 🎶

What made this visit from the Gadzukes Ukulele Players so special wasn’t just the music – it was the incredible moments shared between residents and staff throughout the afternoon. 💛

From the very first song, you could see faces light up. Residents were singing along, tapping their feet, and reminiscing to familiar tunes. The joy was contagious – and before long, staff were right there beside them, clapping, encouraging, and joining in the fun. 👏🎶

Some of our favourite moments were on the dance floor, where staff gently supported residents to stand, sway, and dance together. There were beautiful one-to-one interactions – hand holding, laughing, and sharing those little moments that mean so much. Seeing the confidence and happiness grow, even in those who are usually quieter, was truly heartwarming. 💃🕺

There were plenty of giggles too, with staff and residents sharing jokes, singing together, and enjoying the relaxed, feel-good atmosphere. It’s these connections – the smiles exchanged, the encouragement given, and the genuine care shown – that make days like this so meaningful. 😊

A huge thank you again to the Gadzukes for creating such a warm and uplifting experience. And a special mention to our amazing team, who go above and beyond to make every moment count for our residents. ❤️

🎶 It’s Monday… so that can only mean one thing — Sue, Music & Movement! 🎶

Our residents had a fantastic time this morning, getting active, having a laugh, and joining in with some fun musical exercises. From tapping along to the beat to a bit of gentle stretching (with a few balloon surprises thrown in!), it’s a brilliant way to start the week.

Smiles, laughter, and a little bit of rhythm go a long way 💜
