💙✨ What is something you miss doing? ✨💙

This is a question we often ask during our initial assessments, because it helps us get to know each person as an individual.

Sometimes the answer might be as simple as enjoying, fish and chips on a Friday, a ☕ coffee outing, or even a 🛒 supermarket trip that someone may no longer feel confident doing alone.

These little things mean a lot — and at Wye Care, we make it our mission 💕 to support our clients in continuing to enjoy the activities and moments that matter most to them. 🌸

🌸 A lovely Saturday outing! 🌸

This morning, after enjoying our usual cup of coffee, we took a trip with one of our clients to the Ross-on-Wye Country Market. It was such a joy to browse all the wonderful stalls filled with homemade bakes, preserves, fresh produce, plants, and beautiful crafts – all made and grown by local residents.

The market runs every Saturday from 9.00am–1.30pm at The Venue on Hill Street, and it’s the perfect place to soak up the friendly atmosphere, support the community, and pick up something special.

💙 Meet the Team Monday! 💙

Say hello to Flo 👋

Flo has honestly blown us away since joining Wye Care – she’s taken to the role like a natural and her work is just fantastic 👏 We already can’t imagine the team without her!

Not only is Flo caring and hardworking, she’s also super talented 🎭💃 She studied a year of drama at university and enjoys different forms of the arts – especially ballroom and Latin dancing, which she’s been doing for a few years!

But nursing has always felt like her true calling 💙 This September, Flo will be starting her Mental Health Nursing Degree 🎓 with hopes of going on to do a post-grad in Art/Dramatherapy – combining her love of creativity with her passion for helping people.

We think that makes her pretty amazing! 🌟 Drop a comment below to give Flo a big Wye Care welcome – we’re so proud to have her on the team. 💐

💙 Meet the Team – Alison, Carer (Bank Staff) 💙

If you’re from Ross-on-Wye, there’s a good chance you already know Alison! She’s been part of the community for many years, working at both the Ryefield Centre and Age UK, and now we’re lucky enough to have her as part of our Wye Care family.

Alison is a proud mum to three children and a very proud grandma to seven! She and her husband escape the UK winters to spend time in sunny Australia, visiting their son and catching up with friends on the other side of the world.

When she’s back home, Alison loves nothing more than going for walks with friends, enjoying a good yoga session, and making special memories with her grandchildren. She also treasures spending quality time with her husband.

We’re so happy to have Alison bringing her warmth, experience, and big heart to the Wye Care team 💙

🎶 A Day to Remember at Bands in the Park 🎶

Today we had the pleasure of taking one of our clients to Bands in the Park in Ross-on-Wye, and what a beautiful day it was! ☀️

It was extra special for our client, who shared fond memories of attending the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic as a child with school on special occasions. Hearing the live music today brought those treasured moments flooding back ❤️

📍 Bands in the Park takes place every Sunday from 2.30pm–4.30pm at the Bandstand in Ross-on-Wye — a perfect way to enjoy live music and the fresh air.

🌟 Meet the team – Sarah 🌟

This week we’re excited to introduce you to Sarah, our wonderful Patient Services Manager and director here at Wye Care! 💙

Sarah brings a wealth of experience and compassion to our team. Before joining us, she worked for 11 years as a Community Support Worker alongside the District Nurses, and prior to that, supported residents in a specialist dementia care home. Her background gives her incredible insight into providing the best possible care 👩‍⚕️💬

Outside of work, Sarah is a proud mum of two – her son is studying at university in Cardiff 🏫 and her daughter has just started her career in a local nursery, which she absolutely loves 👶✨

In her spare time, Sarah enjoys a good roast dinner out, and when the music starts, you’ll often find her on the dance floor letting her hair down! 🕺🍽️💃

We’re so grateful for everything Sarah brings to the Wye Care family – dedication, energy, and lots of laughs 💫

🧠☕ Ross Memory Café – A Warm Welcome Awaits 💙

We’re proud to share details about the Ross Memory Café – a relaxed, friendly space for people living with memory loss and their families or carers. 💬👫

📍 Where: The Larruperz Centre, Grammar School Close, Ross-on-Wye, HR9 7QD
📅 When: First Tuesday of every month
🕦 Time: 11:30am – 1:30pm
💷 Cost: £5 per couple (includes all refreshments & activities)

Run by Dementia Matters Here, the café is a perfect opportunity to build friendships and support networks in a welcoming environment.
