Hazelwood Homecare

Hazelwood Homecare Hazelwood Homecare is a family- owned and managed domiciliary care agency providing personal care We aim to recruit our workers from within the local community.

Established in Rawtenstall in 1985, Hazelwood Homecare today is still in the same ownership, employing 50 qualified people aged from 23 to 70. Our team includes three palliative care specialists who hold Level 3 End of Life Care certificates. We recognise that our service users want choice, so more than 10% of our team are men, enabling us to offer a full range of personal care services to people of both sexes. This means that we know them well and they are more inclined to stay in their jobs, ensuring continuity of care for you. These locally-based colleagues live near you, know their way around and spend less time traveling so you get the maximum time from them, at the time we promise.

⭐A huge shout out to Marcella - Who was North teams Carer of the Month! ⭐

Marcella has been a great support, picking up extra calls on evenings and weekends. All the clients Marcella visits say they look forward to her visits, especially when she shows them the new dance moves she has been learning 🕺💃

🌸 Cervical Cancer Prevention Week
19–25 Jan 2026
A quick reminder: cervical screening saves lives. 💙
If you’ve had your invite, this is your nudge to book your test — it only takes minutes and can help prevent cervical cancer.
Let’s break the stigma, support each other, and prioritise our health. 💕✨

🌸 Cervical Cancer Prevention Week
19–25 January 2026
This week is all about raising awareness of cervical screening — a simple test that can help prevent cervical cancer. 💙
If you’ve been invited for your screening, consider this your gentle reminder to book your appointment. It only takes a few minutes, but it could save your life.
We know the test can feel uncomfortable or even worrying, but you’re not alone. Many people feel the same — and it’s completely OK to talk about it, ask questions, or bring someone with you for support.
Why screening matters:
✔ Detects cell changes early
✔ Helps prevent cervical cancer
✔ Quick, free, and done by trained professionals
✔ You’re in control — you can ask for breaks, adjustments, or a different clinician
Let’s break the stigma, support each other, and spread the message:
Regular screening = early protection.
If you’re due your test, why not make that call today? 💕
Or check the comments for details of local mobile cervical screening units

Today’s the day. The day you put the kettle on. The day small talk turns into big talk. The day you break open the biscuits and the taboos.

The day you remind everyone how good human connection feels. How easy it is and what a difference it can make.

Let’s prevent su***de with a cuppa and a catch-up this Brew Monday. Because for many, tomorrow’s too late.

Reaching out to someone could help them know that they are valued and someone cares. If you’ve noticed someone has gone quiet in the group chat or you haven’t heard from them in a while, reach out and check in. A simple message can mean a lot to someone who is going through a difficult time.

Just reaching out and asking someone how they are can give them the opportunity to open up about how they’re feeling. Don’t forget to put aside some time to catch up with them properly, maybe over a cuppa.

☕ Brew Monday – Let’s Turn Blue into Brew!

January is often called the “gloomiest month,” but Samaritans are flipping the script with Brew Monday. It’s all about taking time to connect—grab a cuppa, have a chat, and check in with someone who might need it.
A simple conversation can make a big difference. So on Monday, let’s put the kettle on and remind each other: you’re not alone.
💬 Who will you share a brew with?
