I love this imagery of anxiety from Gemma Correll, it is humorous but also shows just how big anxiety can feel for people who struggle with it daily. Anxiety can be really debilitating, impacting all areas of life.
In our classes all students are welcomed without judgement into a safe space, where you are encouraged through gentle yoga to learn to understand and listen to your body, to make sense of the sensations and emotions you experience. We do this together and over time develop greater understanding of how these physical patterns and pathways can be interrupted, and reset using various yoga practices such as pranayama (breath).
Students in our chair yoga, Hatha yoga, and mindfulness classes report feeling empowered and confident to manage stress, and describe significant improvements in their level of anxiety. It is wonderful to see each students journey and how they incorporate their practices into daily life.
