Local, independent, family owned funeral directors, Goldthorpe. We help, care and support you.

Throughout our lives, we experience the loss of loved ones, and this affects us all in different ways. Reflecting on personal losses of family and close friends, we want to ensure each funeral is tailor made and personal, making each funeral appropriate for each individual family and their relatives, as this is the last thing we can do for those we love. We are located in Goldthorpe, with close links to the A1 and M1 enabling us to provide a family run service within the South Yorkshire region. We expect our Funeral Service to primarily accommodate the local communities including the areas in and around Goldthorpe, Thurnscoe, Bolton upon Dearne, Wath upon Dearne, Mexborough and Swinton.

We love the days when we get to work with our friends at Hanson carriage hire 🐴 they recently helped one of our families say goodbye to their loved one - this time a black turnout with red plumes 🖤❤️
Although it was a cold crisp day, the sun was out making a lovely day for this lady's final journey. We were blessed we have been chosen by the lady herself, who decided on a lot of the details with her family, including a lovely seagrass willow coffin🙏💜

We recently said goodbye to a special gent, he asked me to pop and see him a few weeks ago - to sit together to talk through his wishes.
One of the stories he shared with me was about a white sports car he had when he was younger… he put a red ‘go faster’ stripe on it himself, and wanted the same colours for his final journey ❤️ so of course we made sure it happened.

🤍 Cared for, for as long as it takes 🕊️
Sometimes families aren’t ready to take their loved one’s ashes home, and that’s okay.
We currently care for ashes that have been with us for many years, there is no pressure and or judgement because as we all know, grief has no timetable.
When families are ready, whether that’s weeks, years, or longer - we are here, because looking after loved ones means looking after families too 🙏🏻💜

Christmas feels like it’s come around quick this year ❤️🎄as always, we’re sending love and strength to all our families - and sending a reminder to check in with each other, give those you love a big hug, and remember those no longer with us however they’d like you to, everyone is different and that’s what makes it more special. Today marks the Winter Solstice ❄️ the shortest day of the year - it’s harder for everyone during the colder and darker months, we all miss those we’ve lost even more, especially as we get closer to the festive season. Tonight, let’s make the most of the longest night - look up at the sky for those bright stars shining for you 💜🙏🏻

We were recently gifted these lovely guardian angel charms from a family on their loved ones funeral day 🪽 we have them hanging on our desks and some staff have them on their car keys, thank you 💜🙏🏻

❄ C O L D W E A T H E R ❄
It's safe to say the colder months are well and truly on their way now, I think we’ve all had a visit from the lovely snowflake on our car dashboards! When attending funerals please make sure you have enough layers and your big coats, it's always better to be able to take a layer off than wish you had a jumper on, make sure you have a pair of gloves in your pockets 🙏💜

Here is a little more information about what we provide:
💜 We provide direct cremations in our local area & your loved one is cared for at our premises up until their funeral date
💜 Other companies you may have seen (online or on TV), transport your loved one many miles away for their cremation, but with us you are familiar with the location
💜 You’re welcome to place items with your loved one, and we can take locks of hair and fingerprints for you as keepsakes
💜 Money isn’t the motivation for us, we care for everyone the same and do what we can to make things personal for you
💜 If having a direct cremation is a wish of your loved one, but you still wish to celebrate their life - we work with local celebrants who help you to create lovely services post cremation
💜 After the cremation we collect your loved one’s ashes and let you know they are here for you whenever you are ready
