Keeping cool in the sunshine today with a trip around Thrybergh Country Park for Ricky. We made a new friend there too!

This afternoon was a trip to Mill Dam where Adam B, Dave S and Dave B enjoyed a few beers!

Some new additions to Greenside Court!

In our updated Function Room upstairs we now have a prayer corner. We have residents and staff of all different faiths and denominations so whether it be for prayer or a moment alone to think, our new corner offers an area for reflection.

We also have some new wall art and it couldn't express the things we do here more if it tried.

We've been enjoying the sunshine here at Greenside Court.

Our gorgeous Pete went to Thrybergh Country Park this morning and made friends whilst there 🥰❤️

Laura and Elaine (who is a little camera shy) went to the RSPB this afternoon and went twitching!

St George's Day Celebrations over the last few days here at Greenside Court.

You already know that our Ricky and Adam B went to Clifton Park to celebrate there.

Our Dave S enjoyed helping trim up the units with flags. He even decorated himself!!!

Ricky, Tim and Julie enjoyed some fish and chips at Cleethorpes. Tim was a little camera shy though.

Our lovely stand-in chef, Mark, also made fish and chips for lunch and then Shepherd's Pie for tea! Can you work out which are the pureed versions of the pie? It's lovely that our chefs work so hard to make the pureed food look soooooo good!!

Clifton Park for their St George's Day Celebrations anyone?

Well, Ricky and Adam B went anyway. The sun shone (mostly) and we saw dragons and knights that we never knew rode unicycles!! Adam and Ricky even posed with one.

We then nipped into the Museum to have a look around and saw a sign that we thought really said what we've been sayng for years!

Our wonderful Clare Crowder only went and won at Nationals!!!

She was our overall winner at Greenside and then the overall winner at the National Awards!

Clare won this award by living and breathing the Values and "making every day better" for our residents.

We've said it before and we'll say it again, we're SO lucky to have her. She really does everything with a passion for including our residents in all meal choices, getting them involved in menu planning, cooking with them and making our pureed meals look fantastic!

Emily your Holiday Voucher, Clare, you totally deserve it!!! 💯🍾🎉🎆

Greenside Court want to give a huge Good Luck to our Clare Crowder who's going to the Values Awards Final tonight!

We couldn't wish for a more inclusive Catering Manager who gets all our residents involved and cooks delicious meals. You also make the pureed dishes look so appetising, that they look just like the real deal!

Also, you've introduced the Cafe Menu for other choices in case our residents don't fancy what's on the menu.

You have started up a Cooking with Clare class each month which has given our residents more independence with cooking their own food. And you get them involved in decision making about menu choices.

You're already a winner in our eyes, but to come home with the big one? Well, wouldn't that be something, huh?

We've had a busy few days here at Greenside Court!!!

Another Cooking with Clare session went down a treat!!! Joe, Dave B, Adam M and Adam B made Hunters Chicken lasagne, followed by Biscoff and white chocolate cheesecake. They were fully supervised by Julie who made sure they didn't step out of line 😁

Dave S and Adam B enjoyed the lovely weather and had a wander around Greasbrough Dam! Pauline (though a little camera shy) had a walk along Greasbrough Park.

Adam M and Julie went to Buzz Bingo. Adam B won a little, but Julie not so much. Next time, Julie!!

Dave B and Elaine (who's also a little camera shy) went to the local Costa. Dave's coffee was so big that Rob, our Activities Coordinator thought he could see a lifeguard on the other side making sure Dave didn't fall in!

We don't half try to fit everything in here!!

As today is World Health Day, we started the morning with meditation.

Mental Health is as important as physical health so Dave B, Julie, Laura and Elaine (who is a little camera shy) listened to some positive affirmations whilst having a little pamper. They then did some meditation through YouTube and were very relaxed afterwards!!! Our Activity Coordinator, Dawn Mitchell had a hand massage as a pamper from Dave too!

Elaine and Ricky then enjoyed the sunshine this afternoon. They went to the local Co-op where Ricky enjoyed a lovely ice cream with it being nice weather. After that they went for a walk along the local area and the park to soak up the sun rays!

What. A. Day!!!!!

We started off the Easter Sunday celebrations by lovely Laura going to the Sunday Service at Church and meeting up with family and friends.

Our gorgeous Gary (who is a bit camera shy) had his 60th birthday. He wanted to celebrate with a KFC so he did just that!!! He also had an RUFC cake made for him by our fab Clare Crowder and decorated by our Chef today, Mark. Happy Birthday, Gary!!!

We then had an Easter Eggstravaganza with a Name the Bear competition which was won by our handsome Mel's wife. We also had a raffle and first prize was won by Amy Godwin. Congratulations, Amy!!! Next up was our Easter Bonnet parade. Modelled by the gorgeous Joe and Alan Jackson and judged by Sheridan, our newest HCA, our Disco Dave B only went and won first prize!!!

Oh, and all our SUs got an Easter present of an egg, shower gel and chocolate mousse! They don't ask like chocolate so we improvised 😁

If you're wondering why the long faces in one of the pictures, it's because their didn't win on the raffle 😁😁😁

We do hope you had a wonderful Easter Sunday. We certainly did!!!

We only went and got into the Advertiser!!!

Our Fundraising for Huntington's Disease Association got us into the local press.

We can't wait for next year's Odd Socks Day to see if we can do even better!

Greenside Court team takes on triathlon challenge to support Huntington’s Disease Association

Colleagues and residents at Greenside Court care home have gone the extra mile (quite literally) by completing a team triathlon to raise funds for the Huntington’s Disease Association (HDA).

It's always nice to get out and have some fresh air.

When you get lovely scenery, weather and wildlife, it makes it even better!

Our beautiful Laura has been doing just that with a trip to Derwent. The local wildlife came to day hello to get too!
