If you are aged 40-74 and do not have a long term condition, you are eligible for a free NHS Health Check every 5 years. This checks your risk of conditions such as diabetes, stroke, dementia and heart disease.

The check includes:

💙 Blood pressure & cholesterol checks
💙 A discussion about lifestyle factors such as smoking, activity & diet
💙 Personalised advice to help reduce any future health risks

If you receive an invitation from the practice, we strongly encourage you to book your appointment. It is a simple but effective way to take control of your health.

Lung cancer is one of the UK's most common cancers and early detection significantly improves survival rates.

There are often no signs or symptoms of lung cancer at an early stage. As a result, many people with lung cancer are being diagnosed at a later stage.

Most lung cancers grow slowly enough for them to be found at an early stage by a chest scan.

Eligible patients will be contacted via a letter from the Lung Cancer Screening (LCS).

Patients that are eligible are:
📅between 55-75 years old
🏠live in South Yorkshire
🚭are currently or a former smoker, or no smoking status is recorded on your medical details.

You will be initially contacted by post, with a reminder telephone call and text message.

In December 1% of patients did not attend their booked appointments.

📅That's 107 appointments wasted.

We know people forget things, cancelling GP appointments being one of them. Please remember to cancel your appointment if you don’t need it and give us as much notice as possible so that it can be offered to someone else.
