A treatment consists of a series of gentle rolling moves with frequent pauses between moves giving the body time to benefit from each set. The technique treats the body as a whole or can target a specific problem, pinpointing stress buildup in muscle groups and releasing it. As well as muscles, the Bowen Technique pays special attention to the fascia - the sheet of connective tissue that covers th

e structures of the body responsible for your posture and allows flexibility and movement between various parts of the body, affecting the way we hold our spine. By working on the muscles and fascia together, the technique may affect the way the body structure works, helping you to adopt a less painful posture. This approach may result in a long-lasting effect on the body alignment and is much gentler than some manipulative therapies, without the need for vigorous
manipulation or pulling about. As well as addressing symptoms of concern, a Bowen session creates a wonderful sense of deep relaxation in the body. Some clients who do not have any conditions they specifically want to address may benefit from a session to improve their sense
of well-being and to receive ‘top-up’ treatments, pro-actively looking after their own health.
