🌿 A natural extension of My Nesessity 🌿

My Nesessity has always been about beautiful UK country living — and seasonal displays have been part of that for years: my own home décor, & displays for a farm shop, and my window dressing when I had my physical shop in Rowland Castle.

Now I’m offering it as a full service for homes and venues — designed and installed professionally.

DM “DIARY” for 2026 dates + packages.

I came across this post on Facebook, shared by a friend, and I just had to share it again. 💚

I have so much respect for The Alice Lisle Pub for making the incredibly thoughtful decision to change their event schedule on the day of their event in order to support their community. It takes a lot for any business to put their hands up and say, “We got this wrong,” but it takes an even bigger one to lead by example and do the right thing — even when it’s not the easiest choice.

By cancelling their fireworks, they’ve shown compassion and awareness for the wellbeing of their community, local wildlife, and pets — recognising that 15–20 minutes of spectacle simply isn’t worth the distress it can cause. 🌿🐾

They’ve done something amazing, and I truly hope the locals rally around and support them for this thoughtful change. This is what real community spirit and responsible business leadership look like. 👏

Let’s hope more venues and organisers take inspiration from The Alice Lisle — proving that you can absolutely enjoy Guy Fawkes’ Night and support local businesses without fireworks. 🎆➡️💚

An Important Update Regarding Our Event & Fireworks Display

We have heard the concerns of the New Forest community loud and clear.

As a host site, we now fully understand and appreciate the distress a fireworks display would cause to both local residents and the wonderful wildlife around us, including livestock and pets. We wholeheartedly agree that the welfare of all animals in the Forest is paramount.
After careful consideration and listening to your feedback, we have made the decision to cancel the fireworks display.

The Event Continues with the community & animals in mind
We are committed to being a supportive and responsible part of this community. While the fireworks are off, the party is still on!

We will be moving forward with:
Live Music
Great Food
Face Painting

We have listened, and we have acted. Now, we are asking for your support! Please join us. Your attendance will not only help us make it a great evening but also allow us to help raise awareness for the care of the New Forest's people and animals.

Please Help Us Share!

We would be so grateful for your help in sharing this far and wide across your pages and local community groups. It is important that all affected people can rest assured that we are no longer having fireworks.

To all that have written in. please come down today & see us, it would be great to meet you and discuss how we can support the Forest & community further

Warm regards

Gedz & Chris

Autumn elegance by the fire 🍁

There’s something beautifully simple about being cozy by the log burner — where the glow of the flames perfectly matches my autumn nail shade 🔥

💅🏻Not bad for a first try at a home manicure, even if the country chores might put it to the test🦆🐎🦮

Rich ambers, deep berries, and rustic reds — the timeless colours of the season that inspire our country collections at My Nesessity.

Left the gate open… and suddenly it was The Jungle Book: Donkey Edition! 🫏🎶
They wondered in, inspected the garden, then marched back out in single file. I couldn’t resist The Elephant March music. Pure gold. 😂🌿🎥

October adventures are even better with your dog by your side! 🍂 Whether you’re exploring woodland trails or searching hedgerows for hidden treasures, your furry friend will love joining the foraging fun. 🌿🐶

Here’s what to pack before you set off:

🦴 A sturdy lead and harness – keep your pup close and safe while exploring. (We love the comfort and durability of the My Nesessity range!)

💧 Collapsible travel bowl & water bottle – perfect for pit stops and keeping your dog hydrated on longer walks.

🧥 Waterproof dog coat – ideal for drizzly autumn days! My Nesessity’s waterproof coats keep your dog warm, dry, and ready for adventure.

🎾 Favourite toy or ball – great for breaks between foraging finds and keeping little paws entertained.

🍪 Treats – reward your four-legged helper for being such a good foraging companion!

⛑️ Dog first aid kit – a small kit with essentials like tick removers, bandages, and antiseptic wipes is always handy for unexpected scrapes or stings.

💡 Clip-on safety lights or reflective gear – shorter days mean earlier dusks; make sure you and your dog can be easily seen while out exploring. My Nesessity has some great options to help keep you visible and safe.

🍁 Don’t Forget the Extras! 🍁

Little extras can make a big difference on your autumn adventure — keeping everyone happy, comfy, and ready for more exploring! 🍂✨

Here’s what to pop in your bag before you head out:

🧼 Wipes & hand sanitiser – perfect for quick clean-ups before snack breaks (especially after muddy hands and berry picking!).

⛑️ Pocket-size first aid kit – just in case of scrapes or stings — better safe than sorry!

🧭 Compass – great for family fun and teaching young adventurers navigation skills. (For beginners, we always recommend sticking to trail routes — but a compass makes it feel like a real expedition!)

☕ Flask of hot chocolate or a cool drink – plus cups, plates, cutlery, and plenty of snacks to refuel.

🗑️ Rubbish bag – leave no trace! Keep our countryside beautiful and protect wildlife by taking everything home.

🧣 Blanket or picnic rug – for a cosy sit-down or impromptu woodland snack stop.

🔭 Binoculars – a brilliant way to watch wildlife and study plants up close, without disturbing nature. Great fun for curious little explorers!

📸 Camera or smartphone – capture priceless family moments or log your day’s finds. You don’t have to forage to eat — forage for photos! Create a scrapbook of your adventures and remember each discovery.

🌿 Whether you’re building your own adventure kit or want something ready to go, we’ve got you covered — explore our full kits and individual essentials available now on our online store!

It’s the little touches that turn a countryside walk into a family adventure to remember. ❤️
