Harvest Festival … bottled Kimchi with dulse & porcini, celeriac & ginger, dill & lemon kraut, mostly at that bubbly stage when they are swimming in their own brine which is later absorbed back into the vegetables as the fermentation slows.

Swans … watching this family with their 6 signets on my daily walks by the river … such a delight. See the one where the father swan guards them as they feed? They will stay together through the winter probably, then the adults will chase the young away before starting another family.

Judgement Day (again!)
Today it’s the Borders Housing Design Award judges. Beason’s telling me they’re arriving (listen and watch!?)
All very well living in this wonderful home but folk keep wanting to check it out and take photos etc. Takes me hours to clean and tidy but wow … love the result.
Looking forward to feet up with a cuppa when they’ve gone.
