The Mums race is upon us! As you sprint to the finish line do you worry about leaking? Let me ask you this, how much preparation have you done? Do you regularly sprint or complete dynamic explosive type exercise? Then perhaps I am bold enough to say, its possible if we don't train for something, could an over loaded system be expected? In the Dads race are we surprised if one of them tweaks a muscle or is not as fast or sleek as their younger days? Lets prepare, lets train, lets get back to all the stuff we used to do care free

Pars Fracture is a stress related fracture of the pars articularis, the connection between the facet and the vertebral body. It is most common in the young athletic population, particularly those involved with gymnastics, football and cricket. It can affect both sides or just one side of the spine . In the case of football and cricket it is often associated with the side of the bowling arm or kicking leg. Back pain in children is not normal and should be assessed, if found early it can prevent more serious injury like spondylolithesis.

Stress urinary incontinence

Leaking urine with coughing sneezing running or jumping?
Put off getting back to running or going to the gym?
Want to jump on the trampoline with your children without worrying about leaking?

Stress urinary incontinence can be caused by weak pelvic floor muscles, poor pressure management, poor timing or endurance. It can also be caused by an over active pelvic floor - who would’ve thought it!

It’s really important to be assessed and set a programme of exercise specific to you and your needs. Don’t be surprised if this involves resistance training. Pelvic floor exercises need to look functional and replicate the action you want to get back to. Seek expert help from a pelvic health physiotherapist
