Opening up about mental health can feel like the hardest step.

Wendy, one of our Psychiatric Case Managers, works closely with AXA Health members to help them feel heard and supported. Through listening, understanding, and guiding them to the support available to them, she helps make those first steps feel a little less daunting.

At AXA Health, we believe care is about meeting people where they are - with empathy, patience, and understanding.

You Make Me Feel Seen

In this original poem created for our Cover that Cares campaign, Hussain Manawer explores the quiet moments of love, support and human connection that help us feel seen.

AI doesn’t always get it wrong, but it doesn’t always get it right either.

In the next part of our series, Dr Corne Hurter continues testing AI with real-life health concerns - this time receiving a more balanced, neutral response.

It’s helpful. Informative. Reassuring, to a point.

And that’s where things get interesting.

Because our research shows AI is shaping how people decide what to do next:
• 59% delay seeking care after reassurance
• 59% seek help unnecessarily after increased worry

It’s not just about the answer - it’s about what people do with it.

AI can support understanding. But it can’t replace the clarity, confidence and reassurance that comes from speaking to someone who truly listens.

We listen. We support. We care.

You Make Me Feel Seen

We all love to feel cared for. As part of our Cover that Cares campaign, we commissioned a poem by Sunday Times bestselling poet and author Hussain Manawer.

Just like great care, a good poem stays with you. In You Make Me Feel Seen, Hussain puts into poetry his experience as a carer for two generations – his father and grandmother.

Hussain explores how care works both ways. From labours of love such as doing dishes and changing bed sheets, to feeling seen through warmth, love and support.

A worried parent. A quick question to AI.

More people are turning to AI to talk about their health concerns - but it’s not always straightforward.

Our research shows:
• 59% have delayed care after reassurance from AI
• 59% have sought help unnecessarily after increased worry
• 1 in 4 have received incorrect information

Our findings show a complicated truth: AI can increase anxiety or give false reassurance, but it can also give people clarity and confidence. The challenge is that people are navigating this alone.

In our first video series, our Medical Director, Dr Corne Hurter puts AI to the test - starting with a young mum asking a question about her baby’s rash.

“I didn’t want to worry her.”

So Paul kept his symptoms to himself for seven months — thinking he was protecting the person he loved.

He’s not alone.

Our research shows many people hold back from talking about their health:

• 28% don’t want to worry others
• Over a third feel embarrassed
• 51% fear being judged

But staying silent can mean carrying more than you need to.

Because when people do open up, many feel supported, reassured - and less alone.

Here at AXA Health, we believe care starts with listening.

We listen. We support. We care.

Fitness used to be full of all-or-nothing attitudes, but the “no pain, no gain” era is making way for a much more holistic approach to being fit and active. If intense workouts and strict routines are not your thing, rejoice in knowing that fitness doesn’t have to mean pushing yourself to the limit (unless you want to, of course).

In fact, the best way to build long-term fitness is to make it steady, consistent, and enjoyable. If you’ve ever started strong only to lose motivation a few weeks later, it’s time to consider a more achievable approach.

Achievable fitness takes a different approach, gently focusing on realistic goals, small, consistent changes, and building habits you can maintain, so progress is enjoyable.

Some things are hard to say out loud.

Our latest research shows many people are holding back when it comes to their health - even with those closest to them. Often because of embarrassment, fear of judgement, or not wanting to feel like a burden.

But staying silent can make things feel heavier.

Because when people do open up, they don’t just share a condition - they often feel relief, support, and a little less alone.

At AXA Health, we are here to listen and offer support for our members at every stage of their healthcare journey.
