Today, on the anniversary of VE Day, we took time to remember and honour all those who bravely fought and sacrificed so much during the war, as well as the people on the home front who kept the country going through such difficult times.๐Ÿ’—
This afternoon, we celebrated this occasion with a special performance thanks to Jade Roxanne Music & Wellbeing who sang many of the songs that helped lift spirits and keep morale high during the war years. The familiar music bringing meaningful memories this afternoon.

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง As we mark the anniversary of VE Day this week, we enjoyed a special afternoon tea filled with 1940s music, singing, conversation, and shared memories. The lounge had such a lovely atmosphere throughout the afternoon, with residents singing along to familiar songs, chatting together, and enjoying the occasion.
One of the most meaningful parts of the afternoon was hearing some residents talk about their own memories of VE Day. Listening to those personal stories and reflections was incredibly interesting and moving, and it made the celebration feel even more special.๐Ÿฅฐ

This afternoon we had a lot of fun with Baggy Pants and parachute ball games.
Residents threw balls for the wellbeing team to catch โ€” with lots of laughter ( mainly directed at Sarah and Andrea )๐Ÿ˜‚. It was a fun, lively way to encourage movement, coordination and a bit of friendly competition. ๐Ÿ€

We had a lovely day today at Rusthall Lodge.
This morning, we finished our wellbeing art project โ€” a giant dragonfly, decorated by residents over the past few weeks, ready to brighten up the lounge in celebration of nature and summer. ๐Ÿ”†These creative sessions are always enjoyed for their calming, mindful quality, and it was lovely to see the finished piece come together.๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

Everyone created something a little different. These small creative projects are a great way to encourage self-expression, focus, and conversation whilst encouraging fine motor skills.
It will be lovely to see the finished stones brightening up the garden for everyone to enjoy. We also wished Peggy a very Happy Birthday, which made the day feel even more special.๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽˆ

Andy Mace - Care Home Entertainer joined us yesterday to sing for our residents, we are lucky to have such brilliant live performances here at Rusthall Lodge.

Happy St Georgeโ€™s Day. We marked the day with some of things we have always done very well at โ€” gardening, craft and an afternoon tea.๐Ÿชด๐Ÿซ–
Residents spent time enjoying the fresh air and beautiful sunshine, whilst another group decorated garden pots. Later on coming together for an Afternoon Tea and a good chat. It was a lovely way to celebrate, with plenty of smiles and a relaxed atmosphere throughout. ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ
