Liz Shrimpton Counselling

Liz Shrimpton Counselling "We cannot change, we cannot move away from what we are, until we thoroughly accept what we are." You can also find me on the Counselling Directory Website.

I am a qualified Humanistic Integrative therapist available for online or in-person sessions in the Royston and Letchworth area. I am a fully qualified counsellor offering support online or in person from premises in either Royston or Letchworth to anyone over the aged 18 or over. I can offer counselling on a short or long term basis depending on your needs and preferences. I practice as a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor which means that I offer a warm, empathic, genuine and non-judgemental environment. Within this we can build a strong, trusting relationship enabling us to explore your issues, emotions and experiences safely. I appreciate that every person is unique with their own personal frame of reference and experiences. I have studied a range of approaches and can therefore adapt and use an array of techniques depending on you and what suits you best. I am compassionate and friendly and have benefitted from counselling myself so can appreciate what it is like to be in your shoes. I know that counselling can be challenging and feel difficult at times, but can also be extremely powerful and rewarding. These are your sessions, for your benefit, so you can take the lead and talk about whatever you wish. Together we can create a safe environment for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, choices and experiences. The most important thing is that you feel heard, particularly at a time when you may be experiencing a range of emotions and feelings that can be overwhelming and difficult. I am fully insured and am a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework to ensure that I work to a professional standard.

"In my early professional years, I was asking the question: How can I treat, or cure, or change this person? Now I would phrase the question in this way: How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his own personal growth?"
