Everyone at Maycroft would like to say a very big thank you 🙏 to the Foxton Singers, who performed so beautifully fo us ❤️

The video is unable to convey the atmosphere in our home! Our residents were very touched by the music - even those who do not always enjoy our musical activities!

We would also like to thank the family and friends who joined us for the afternoon, it is always a pleasure 🙏 ☺️

Well done everybody for creating another happy experience for our residents at Maycroft!

Friday fun with Musical Bingo 🎼 🎵 🎹 - back by popular demand👌😀! Great fun with some golden oldies sparking sing-a-longs and beautiful memories - simply lovely 😍

This week we had 4 full houses - yay! Plus a healthy pot of fresh mango 🥭 😋 as a prize for our winners, well done ladies!

We are very excited at Maycroft 😊 🤗!

Tomorrow the Foxton Singers will be performing for us at 3 pm in celebration of one of our residents birthday 🎂 🥳.

Foxton Singers is a local village choir in Foxton, South Cambridgeshire, formed in the 1960s, and we are privileged to welcome them to our home 🙏.

Please join us. The more the merrier!

We have made a start on our art project 🎨 🖼 by painting the basecoat on our friendship bench - read on for more details...

This year's theme for NAPAs National day Art in Care homes is "green" 💚. We have decided to take the environment as our green interpretation: for us, this means our physical and spiritual environment at Maycroft!

We will start with the painting of a colourful "friendship" bench, which can be used to bring people together 🧡

We then plan to paint a mural on the blank wall that surrounds our common areas, which we look at daily (see last photo).

Weather permitting, we hope to finish our project in a few weeks; we will keep you updated with our progress.

As always, if you want to come in and help us, you are more than welcome! "Many hands make light work" as the old saying goes (which is on the growing list of old sayings that one of our residents is currently collecting!)

We welcomed the lovely ladies from our local Melbourn & Meldreth church this morning ⛪️😃. We continue to be grateful for their time, and compassionate interaction with our residents; the readings, prayers, and hymns are very uplifting 💚

"Yee-Haw"🐎today is international country music day so we attempted the Cowboy and Western Quiz from the ! Most of us did not do very well, but lucky for us, we have an American resident who managed to get all but one - yay! 😄👏

The quiz sparked some lovely memories of past holidays in America, and we shared another wonderful morning simply chatting together!
