Protect yourself and your loved ones from common infections this winter.
Chickenpox - Chickenpox is a very common illness caused by the varicella-zoster virus. The chickenpox vaccine offers effective protection for patients who have not had chickenpox before.
Meningitis B - Meningococcal meningitis is caused by bacteria easily passed from person to person by coughing, sneezing and kissing. It can cause serious complications.
Shingles - Shingles is caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox. It can cause fever and rash. Unlike chickenpox, shingles can reoccur and cause repeated bouts.
Whooping Cough - Whooping cough is a bacterial infection of the respiratory tract that causes coughing, that in infants can come with a characteristic “whoop” as they breath in, a well as fever, sore throat and increased production of mucus. This vaccine is for pregnant women who want to protect their children against whooping cough in the first few months before the child can get vaccinated themselves.
Pneumonia - The pneumonia vaccine, helps protect you against serious and potentially fatal pneumococcal infections. The Superdrug pneumonia vaccination service is available all year round via our Superdrug Health Clinics and is suitable for both adults and children.
MMR - Measles, mumps, and rubella are highly infectious conditions that can have serious or potentially fatal outcomes, such as deafness, meningitis or swelling of the brain (encephalitis). Outbreaks don’t happen very often in the UK but it is still important to keep your vaccine status up to date.
