Turtle Medical

Turtle Medical An innovative manufacturer of defibrillator cabinets, bleed control cabinets and bleed control kits and supplier of medical equipment.

Turtle Medical was founded in 2011. It is a family-run business that designs, engineers and manufactures indoor and outdoor defibrillator cabinets to bespoke specifications. In 2020 it created the UK’s first bleed control cabinet and in 2023 the first solar and wind powered defib and bleed control cabinet. The company also supplies approved medical equipment and has numerous partnerships with char

ities, such as the Daniel Baird Foundation. Customers include UK-wide Police, Fire and Ambulance Services and local and parish councils, as well as railway stations and stadiums like St Pancras and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Molineux Stadium. Every element of a Turtle cabinet is manufactured in the UK and cabinets can be built to standard or bespoke specifications, meeting any branding or installation requirements and specifications linked to Listed Building status. Our defibrillator and bleed control cabinets are expertly engineered to keep the medical equipment secure and heat-regulated where required. All our cabinets are IP66 rated (fully waterproof and dustproof) and have the highest impact rating available (IK10); furthermore, we are the only company to hold this certification. Our cabinets can have remote monitoring systems added to them to allow custodians to check on the status of the cabinet at any time, giving them peace of mind about the status of the door, hook switch or temperature inside the cabinet. Registered company name: Turtle Engineering Ltd

🏆🐢 The hard work by the whole team at here at Turtle Medical has paid off and last night we were recognised for our positive impact in communities at BizX Forum and Awards, alongside the Coaching 360 team.

🩸 We're very proud to have produced The Daniel Baird Foundation kits for many years and ensuring money goes back to the charity with every purchase is part of our commitment to communities. We're honoured that the charity Bleed Map - which Mike is a founding trustee of - was also highlighted as part of this accolade, as it puts community needs first. The network for all manufacturers' bleed control kits in all parts of the UK, works in the same way as The Circuit for public defibrillators.

Mike said... "There were over 1,000 business owners in the room, so it's quite an accolade to be shortlisted, never mind winning. I am very honoured, as are the whole team!"

🙏 We'd like to give a huge thanks to the judges and organisers of an amazing event, Juliette Ryley for supporting and coaching us, Ben Whittington for the video and of course the rest of the 360 team, Kevin Riley, Lizzie Roberts and Sue Ford.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑👭👫 Thank you to Benfleet Community First Responders. (CFR) in for their thank you to us – they sent us these lovely photos of the team with collaborators at East Of England Ambulance Service standing with their newly installed Turtle defib cabinet, which was sponsored by Horticultural Society 💚

🤝 CFR are a dedicated team of trained volunteers working in partnership with the East of England Ambulance Service, which respond to life-threatening 999 calls in their local community.

🚑 Please give them a 👍- they often arrive before an ambulance to provide vital early care and support, and we think that’s fantastic.

Are there any similar groups where you are?

🛡️ With Martyn’s Law compliance required in less than a year’s time - 4 April 2027 - we've been busy in the last few months supporting a range of venues and organisations who wanted to strengthen their emergency preparedness before the deadline with Enhanced Public Access Trauma Kits (PAcT) kits and cabinets.

🏟️ From Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and West Bromwich Albion to multi-building campuses like the University of East London, thanks to all our customers who are choosing our enhanced PAcT kits, which have been designed using our years of expertise in public bleed control.

Our Martyn's law preparedness options include:
🩸 single PAcT kits
🎒 holdalls containing 5 kits
⬜ clear cabinet for 1 kit
🟩 large emergency station cabinet holding 2 holdalls

📍 For larger venues and multi-building estates, the priority is not just having the right equipment, but also placing it where people can reach it quickly when every second counts.

📍 Coventry BID has adopted Turtle Medical’s new DefibTrack technology after one of its public defibrillators was deployed in an emergency and never returned to its cabinet.

That experience highlighted a challenge many organisations face and that’s why we designed this unique system. When an AED goes missing after use, it can leave a community without a rescue ready defibrillator and facing the cost of replacement.

With DefibTrack, Coventry BID now has 24/7 location monitoring across its publicly accessible defibrillator network, with alerts if equipment moves and live GPS tracking if a defib is removed.
As Joanne Glover, Chief Executive of Coventry BID, said, the technology was “designed exactly for the challenge we faced”, and means that the next time one of the Coventry BID defibrillators is deployed, the team will be able to “retrieve it fast and put it back in the community, rescue ready.”

For us, that is what this innovation is about. Not just protecting property, but helping make sure lifesaving equipment is back where it should be, as quickly as possible.

DefibTrack:
📍 confirms a defibrillator is present
📲 sends an alert if it moves
🗺️ enables live GPS tracking when removed
🔁 includes route replay to support recovery
🔋 uses long-life replaceable batteries
⚙️ can be fitted to any existing AED, whatever the make or model

Thanks to Coventry BID as one of the first organisations to use DefibTrack! Could we support your defibrillator network too?

🩸 When the team isn’t preparing orders or installing cabinets, we’re out raising awareness and training people on how to use the lifesaving components found inside The Daniel Baird Foundation bleed control kits, our enhanced PAcT kits and industry-bespoke trauma response kits.

🍺 A couple of weeks ago, our training manager Mary was at The John Marstons pub in . Now the team have the knowledge and confidence to control a severe bleed if a customer or person nearby was injured.

👱‍♂️👩‍🦰👵🧔 It’s important to remember that the Foundation’s kits and body map instructions were designed to be used without training - by Officialwmas West Mids Ambulance Service - and that they are used by untrained members of the public each week.

☑️ However, in an emergency, having prior knowledge often reduces the panic.
If you want to equip your staff or local community with a bleed kit and confidence in handling critical injuries, please get in touch!

🤝 The OurJay Foundation and Turtle Medical partnership keeps growing – it’s solar and wind powered defib cabinet number 3 for the charity and ☀️💨 On Monday, we were with Naomi and the team at Draycote Water near Rugby along with donors Bacco Lounge and Check Your Ducks to unveil the latest off-grid AED cabinet – we’re pleased everyone is delighted with the new design with Jamie’s image on the cabinet door.

📍 It’s located at the far side of the reservoir, which is 2.5 miles away from the defibrillator cabinet installed at Draycote Water Sailing Club .

💙🐢 We’d like to say huge thank you to OurJay Foundation for truly supporting our vision of safeguarding people from cardiac arrest no matter where they are. And thank you to the hundreds of people and businesses who continue to donate to OurJay – you’re not just helping to save lives, you’re creating an astonishing legacy for Jamie.

Imagine tripping and impaling yourself on metal railings. 🩸 Now imagine bleeding to death on the street while the paramedics were on route.

🙏 Thankfully, in the bleeding was stemmed, and the person made it to hospital for major surgery. Please join us in wishing them a speedy recovery and thanking Kyle Hotchkins for his tireless work to equip communities with The Daniel Baird Foundation kits.

🚑 Accidents never happen until they do – how many public critical bleed kits are in your community? 🗺️ 📍

🩸 Why have Turtle produced bleed kits been through the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) assessment and registration?

Apart from it being the law?

✔️ We – and you – need to have 100% confidence in the components found inside our bleed kits. The MHRA process has confirmed that the kits are safe and effective in controlling a catastrophic bleed injury fast.

💚 It’s almost a year since the people of Creswell in Staffordshire have had peace of mind that a public access defibrillator is on hand in the village 🐢🚌☀️

(It might not be the only lifesaving bus shelter in the UK for very long though… 🤔)

🩸 Critical injury, critical bleeding, bleed control and trauma response are straightforward terms, compared to PAcT.

Over on our blog, we explain what an Enhanced Public Access Trauma (PAcT) kit is and explain more about why this term has become more common in the last couple of years 🏫🌆🏛️ 🚑

05/03/2026

🩸 Not all emergency bleed control kits contain the same items, so if you’re choosing a kit, here’s what’s inside the The Daniel Baird Foundation kit that we produce in our Northamptonshire workshop – money goes to the charity with every purchase.

🎗️ The non-profit was created by Lynne McleodFinch-Baird Mbe after Daniel’s fatal stabbing and came up with the idea of public kits 🚑 and worked with Officialwmas to make sure simple-to-use, quality components that really could control any type of severe bleeding injury were included.

✅ We particularly like the design of the windless tourniquet, which is simple and can be applied fast – see our YouTube for a video on how it’s used.

Our Story

Where it started

Turtle Engineering Ltd worked closely with Cardiac Science and Community First Responder Groups to develop a safe way to store Defibrillators in publically accessible locations.

Originally designed as “all weather” cabinets to withstand the harsh outdoor conditions in the UK, the cabinets proved to be just as in demand for indoor use. This was due to their high visibility and protection of the Defibrillator equipment.

Turtle Engineering Ltd understand that each different group may have different needs from a cabinet. So we have designed them to be flexible and easily personalised; adapted to our customer’s requirement.
