AWARE Retreat with 🔥

I am beyond grateful to have Dav as a teacher. He is incredibly inspiring, forever supportive, and embodies everything and more I want to be as a human being.

This week has been more powerful than I could ever of expected. I’ve processed and shared, felt and seen, moved and breathed.

The people, the location, the food, the practice… everything aligned to become the most magical week that I will treasure close to my heart.

Obrigada, meu coração está cheio ❤️

Thank you to everyone who joined my first workshop of the year - Posture Lab Lateral Focus 🧘‍♀️

I’m always so grateful people choose to spend their afternoons delving deeper into anatomy, intention, and practice. In this workshop we were exploring the theme of expansion and taking up space…

I am worthy of taking up space…

For me, space is so much more than the physical. Space is within, offering freedom of thoughts, biological systems, movement. Space is connection with the world around me. Space is safety. Space is confidence.

Never feel you have to limit your space.

Always know, you too can take up space.

I didn’t get to show off these little flyers about my day retreat before I sold out! 🙃

Thank you to everyone who has booked, enquired, and shown interest in joining for me a whole day of practice and curiosity.

Just under 8 weeks until this event and I can’t wait! 🙌

🍃 February’s Exercise of the Month - Tricep Dips 🍃

Lucky February is a short month, right?! 😂🙃

Working with a tricep focus has been great this month. I’ve noticed a difference in my regulars strength and willpower!

Lots of variations to work with:
1️⃣ Off the silver runners, knees bent or straight legs
2️⃣ Using a short box, knees bent or straight, option to use the barre to be creative and work towards single leg
3️⃣ Reverse table top / plank variations, with tricep extension to send the carriage back underneath
4️⃣ From the barre, knees bent or straight, single leg options or why not add a scoop and lift!

These variations are heavy on the wrists though. So for students who struggle to weight bear, I’ve mixed it up with weights or hand placement to avoid wrist extension.

Stepping into the year of the fire horse with my very own little chilli pepper 🌶️ 🔥 🐎

Today marks the start of the Lunar New Year, with it bringing energy of independence, passion, and drive.

It’s not all about the ragastic qualities though. My aim this year is to find a more sustained balance between rest and work. Practice pauses before reactions.

My morning was spent giving Buddy scratches and walking out across the frosty fields. It’s an exciting year ahead and I’m so grateful to have my little horse as support, companion, and friend. (We also received showjumping prize money this morning 💰 hoping that’s a sign of a prosperous year to come!)

N.B. Photos are not from this morning! While I’m embracing winter, I’m still wrapped up in layers.

For the first time in a long time, we are not swapping UK February for South East Asia…

So instead of an airport selfie, here’s a winter sunshine selfie! I’ve often been heard saying “nothing beats a British blue sky”. And I stand by that statement. Especially in the winter when those clear days are few and far between.

I’ve got some exciting changes coming up and rather than doing my default pattern of “escaping” when things get challenging, I’m stepping into the change.

Another busy weekend of learning for me as I joined a Teacher’s Asana Adjustments Workshop led by the incredible Kat from 🙏

Kat’s anatomy knowledge is incredible and her skills in assisting students find more space, movement, and range in poses is inspiring. Sometimes it’s like she has X-ray vision!

The aim for this workshop was to give me more confidence in bringing hands on adjustments to my teaching.

From light touch to stronger holds, sometimes having a helping hand is what’s needed to feel seen, held, or supported ❤️

Thank you for such a fun day of handstands and learning 🤓

Stepping into “leela” (play) and putting what I’ve learnt in the AWARE Mentorship into practice was both humbling and fun! I’ve got some homework to work on over the next couple of months that will keep me focused and turning up for practice.

So great to finally meet IRL and as always the best fun to practice with and 🥰
