Yesterday was a truly special morning at BNI Webb Ellis - Business Networking in Rugby as we welcomed some incredible VIP guests.

It was an honour to have Kimberley Woods, Olympic medallist, and Simon Ward, Councillor for Rugby Borough Council, join us. Moments like this really highlight the power of local business coming together to support local talent, especially when that talent is a Rugby-born Olympian 🇬🇧

Thanks to the generosity of our chapter members, sponsorship has already helped fund Kimberley’s new boat for the upcoming season. Seeing it up close (along with her brilliant bronze Olympic medals!) was a proud moment for everyone in the room.

Networking doesn’t always have to happen around a breakfast table.

This month’s BNI Webb Ellis - Business Networking in Rugby social was a brilliant curry night was at Hill Murray in Rugby. 🌶️

Great food, a few drinks, lots of laughs, and some really good conversations. It’s always a good reminder of how valuable it is to spend time connecting beyond the weekly meetings and building genuine relationships.

At BNI Webb Ellis - Business Networking in Rugby, collaboration isn’t just something we talk about, it’s how we work. We’re always looking for ways to support each other and, ultimately, deliver a better service to our clients.

This year, we were encouraged to bring banners along to our meetings, a simple but powerful way for visitors and members to quickly understand what we do and who we help.

This particular project was a brilliant example of teamwork done right.

James Hedley from JOH Marketing shaped the messaging.

Tejal Prajapati from Creative brought the design to life.

Malcolm Freeman from Oxygen Elements handled the print and production.

Together, we created a premium double-sided banner for Sean Taylor at Lightweight Mobility & Seating, and he’s absolutely delighted with the result.

One side speaks directly to his B2B audience.
The other targets B2C customers.

Smart, strategic, and versatile.

Not only will it support him at networking meetings, but it’ll also feature on his exhibition stand at his next event. A banner that keeps on giving.

Last night, Webb Ellis - Business Networking swapped the meeting room for the bowling lanes and darts board – and what a brilliant Friday night it was! 🎳

For us, networking is about so much more than a weekly meeting. We love mixing things up with monthly socials where we can relax, have a laugh, and really get to know each other beyond the business chat.

Because at the heart of it for us networking is about building real friendships.

Huge thank you to Raj and Michelle Love for organising, another fantastic evening!

❤️ Love was in the air at BNI Webb Ellis - Business Networking in Rugby ❤️

We all fell back in love with networking thanks to a surprise visit from Cupid!

During our 60 seconds, each member received a special message sharing just how brilliant they are. A great reminder of the power of appreciation in business.

We then enjoyed a fantastic 10-minute presentation from Gary Lloyd at Space Station Self Storage. He gave us a behind-the-scenes look at what really goes on across their self-storage units throughout the UK.

Did you know self-storage is one of the fastest-growing industries right now, with demand soaring nationwide?

Gary shared how security and accessibility are at the heart of everything they do, and the robust systems they have in place to ensure customers feel confident and supported. Absolutely fantastic presentation, well done, Gary 👏

This week we were also proud to receive Silver Chapter status 🥈 from Julie Cameron for reaching 30+ members - a brilliant achievement for the chapter.

Huge thanks to Andrea Lennard, Harpreet Stevenson and Carter Murphy for their leadership and for guiding us to become such a strong and supportive business community.

Our Oscar winner this week was Matt Elder, chosen by Nathan Jones, looking forward to your feature presentation next week, Matt!

What an unforgettable 10-minute presentation from Karena Ellis-Greenway yesterday at BNI Webb Ellis - Business Networking in Rugby.

Karena Ellis-Greenway from Green Chameleon shared the story of her career, talked us through her services, and explained why she takes such a thorough, detail-led approach to what she does.

What really impressed us wasn’t just that she’s a fantastic Chartered Surveyor, it’s her genuine commitment to giving back. Through the charity events she runs throughout the year, Karena has raised an incredible £50,000 to date. A truly impressive contribution and a brilliant example of purpose-led business.

Absolutely fantastic work. Well done, Karena 👏

We also had another great presentation from Sean Taylor from Lightweight Mobility and Seating, who showcased a couple of wheelchairs that are truly beyond the ordinary, designed for both adults and children and seriously impressive on the quality.

What an electrifying 10-minute presentation from Lewis yesterday at BNI Webb Ellis - Business Networking in Rugby.

Lewis Marks from TOP MARKS ELECTRICAL LTD shared the story of his business, talked us through his services, and explained why he takes such a thoughtful, purpose-led approach to what he does.

What really impressed us wasn’t just that he’s a fantastic electrician - it’s his commitment to giving back.

Lewis and his team support the OurJay Foundation, a charity dedicated to ensuring the public has 24/7 access to defibrillators. Their impact is nothing short of incredible:

⚡ 263 installed defibrillators

⚡ 63 portable units

⚡ 16 lives saved to date

Absolutely brilliant work. Well done, Lewis.

We also shared our December figures, which were pretty impressive too - nearly £63,000 in thanked-for business, well done team. 👏

Over the past two weeks, we’ve really hit our stride at BNI Webb Ellis - Business Networking in Rugby, bringing fresh energy and enthusiasm into the new year.

It’s been great to see:

🔺 A strong volume of business being passed

🔺 Plenty of thank-yous for closed business

🔺 Genuine, high-quality referrals

🔺 Insightful education slots focused on becoming better networkers

🔺 Excellent collaboration across the group

Here are a few photos from recent sessions, including Julie Hughes from Fiesta Farewell, who delivered a fantastic 10-minute presentation on her online funeral directory services.

We also heard from Ayden Fryer from Meridan Finance Ltd, who shared how he supports clients in securing the right financial products - from bridging loans and commercial mortgages to tailored solutions in between.

Looking ahead, on 22 January we’re hosting a Health and Wellbeing Visitor Day, the perfect way to start the year with focus and balance.
