Acupuncture for New Parents

In the past 18 months, my circle of friends has celebrated the arrival of 6 new babies. As a result, I've had a lot of conversations about how acupuncture treatment can help support new parents, body, mind and spirit.

As part of my Monday Multibed I volunteer with Access to Acupuncture CIC. Our frontline workers are under a lot of physical and emotional pressure, and they really need our help.

On Monday's I'm at The Acupuncture Academy treating clients at the Menopause Multibed Clinic.

Acupuncture is a medication-free option, making it suitable for those who are unable or do not want to use HRT.

It can also be used safely alongside conventional medication for additional support.

Studies have indicated that acupuncture helps alleviate many common menopause symptoms such as hot flushes, sleep problems, mood and fatigue.

Elf-care at Christmas

This involves things like setting boundaries, simplifying,
and prioritising your well-being amidst Christmas plans.

Do this through activities like:
Quiet time, alone and with family / friends
Going outside and getting fresh air
Sticking to routines with sleep and food
Managing finances with budgets
Limiting screen time

Remember to be kind to yourself, acknowledge feelings, and ask for or accept help when needed to maintain balance.

I treat babies, children and teenagers at both of my Warwickshire based clinics. I work from the Therapy Rooms Rugby, and The Acupuncture Academy in Leamington.

I earned a Professional Licentiate in Acupuncture after completing a three-year degree program at The Acupuncture Academy in Leamington, where I received a Distinction.

I went on to complete a Diploma in paediatric acupuncture at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading.

I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council, and HOPA (Hub of Paediatric Acupuncture). Hub of Paediatric Acupuncture (HOPA Community) is an excellent resource for parents who are interested in acupuncture treatment for children.
