Today we took our lovely ladies out for a trip to Byrkly Park Garden Centre — and what a wonderful place it is!

We were expecting to see all things autumn and fall, but to our surprise, we walked straight into Christmas! 🎅✨ Half of the festive displays were already set up, and they were absolutely magical.

After a good mooch around the clothes and shoes, we wandered through the shop full of local produce and sweet treats — which definitely made our tummies rumble! 🍬🛍️

Home Resident Dot said, “You could spend a fortune here, there’s so much to see!”

This week we’ve been exploring our Around the World destination of India 🇮🇳

Our ladies enjoyed a wonderfully therapeutic arts & crafts session creating their very own Rangoli patterns. Using small coloured squares, they let their creativity shine to produce some truly beautiful designs 🎨

Home resident Pat said, “It was very therapeutic, I’ve enjoyed making and learning about them.”

What a busy (and heartwarming) day we had yesterday at Horse Fair Care Home! 💛

Amongst all the lovely well wishes for Andy’s retirement, we were delighted to welcome our local police and our friends from Kids Planet for a special visit.

The children came along to deliver invitations to their Soup Kitchen next week, and with perfect timing, the police officers arrived to give them an exciting look inside their vehicle! The children (and residents!) loved every moment.

The officers stayed for doughnuts and refreshments, enjoying friendly conversations with our residents. As it was Andy’s final day, they even gave him a special experience — a seat inside the police car

It was a wonderful afternoon of community, smiles, and celebration.

💙 Happy Retirement Andy! 💙

Today we say a huge and heartfelt thank you to our wonderful Maintenance Man, Andy — who after 15 incredible years with us, is hanging up his tool belt (well… sort of!).

Andy has been with us from the very beginning, keeping everything running smoothly and always going the extra mile for our residents and team. From fixing just about anything with a smile, to brightening our days with his daft dad jokes, he’s truly been the heart of the home behind the scenes.

Our residents will certainly miss his friendly chats, quick wit, and the way he always found time to stop and lend a helping hand (or tell one more terrible joke!).

Andy, thank you for all your hard work, dedication, and kindness over the last 15 years — you’ve been one of a kind.

We thought you were retiring… but it seems you’ve already found a new calling as Constable Pointon! 👮‍♂️😂

Wishing you all the happiness in this next chapter — you’ve more than earned it! 💫

What better way to spend a morning than a minibus full of smiling ladies (and one slightly outnumbered Andy behind the wheel)? Armed with hot chocolate, good chatter, and questionable navigation skills, we set off for a scenic escape to Blithfield Reservoir.

We enjoyed stunning views, spotted a kestrel up close who clearly wanted to join the trip, and watched a few fishing boats drifting about—probably having a quieter day than Andy did!

After soaking up the peace and quiet (and ensuring no one went for an accidental paddle), we rounded off the morning with a mystery tour through the countryside. The mystery being… whether we’d ever find our way home!

A perfect mix of fresh air, friendship, and laughter—just what the doctor ordered.

Our Macmillan Coffee Morning went wonderfully today. A huge thank you to everyone who popped in to support such a great cause and to enjoy a cuppa and a slice (or two!) of our delicious cakes, lovingly baked by our amazing chefs.

💙Alice Court Take Fundraising to New Heights for International Animal Rescue 💙

In celebration of World Animal Day, General Manager, Michelle Love-Patel, from Alice Court Care Home - Avery Collection, is preparing for the ultimate challenge - abseiling off the stunning Peacehaven Cliffs.

Michelle is taking on this daring feat to raise money and awareness for International Animal Rescue, a charity dedicated to protecting animals in need across the globe. 🐒

“This is such an important cause,” said Michelle. “I’m thrilled to be able to take part in something that not only pushes me out of my comfort zone but also supports vulnerable animals who desperately need our help.”

Springwood Corner Care Home - Avery Collection, a brand-new 62-bed care home in Gravesend, celebrated its grand opening on Thursday 11th September 2025 with a fun 1940s-themed event 🕺💃.

Over 200 guests, including Avery Healthcare executives, local residents, and community leaders, joined the celebration, featuring a plaque unveiling by Mayor Jenny Wallis, a red-carpet welcome, canapés, prosecco, live entertainment, and even a stilt walker! ✨
