Last week, our clients enjoyed a lovely cheese and non-alcoholic wine tasting afternoon — and what a treat it was!

From creamy brie to mature cheddar, paired with a selection of delicious alcohol-free wines, it was the perfect way to relax, socialise, and try something a little different 💛

There were plenty of smiles, great conversation, and even a few new favourites discovered along the way!

At The Homestead, we love creating meaningful experiences that bring people together and make every day enjoyable.

🌼🐣 Easter at The Homestead 🐣🌼

We hope you all had a lovely easter weekend! We’ve had such a lovely time celebrating Easter here at The Homestead! 💛

Last week, our clients got creative making their very own Easter bonnets – full of colour, flowers, and lots of personality! 🎩🌸 It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and showing off their unique designs.

We then finished the week with a fantastic Easter party, complete with music and entertainment from the brilliant Wendy B 🎤✨ Our clients had a great time singing along, dancing, and enjoying the celebrations together.

Moments like these are what make The Homestead so special – laughter, creativity, and a real sense of community. 💕

💕 Valentine’s Week at The Homestead 💕

What a wonderful week of love, laughter, and celebration we’ve had here at The Homestead! ❤️

Our Valentine’s Day activities were full of smiles and special moments. We got busy in the kitchen making delicious jam tarts and biscuits (which tasted as good as they looked! 🍓🍪), enjoyed a lovely shopping trip followed by cosy hot drinks, and created some beautiful handmade Valentine’s Day cards for loved ones.

To top it all off, we finished the week with a fantastic Valentine’s disco and party! 💃🕺 There was music, dancing, laughter, and plenty of fun shared by everyone.

It’s been such a joy seeing everyone getting involved, being creative, and celebrating together. Thank you to our amazing team for making it all happen — and to everyone who joined in and made it so special.

Here’s to more happy memories at The Homestead! 💖✨

Our activity board is filling up nicely, and we’ve got lots of fun, creativity, music, baking and celebrations planned for the weeks ahead 🎶🍰🎨

From Valentine’s crafts and games days to themed food, quizzes and plenty of laughs, our days are all about friendship, staying active, and enjoying good company 💬❤️

We’re a day centre for older people based in Rugeley, offering a warm, welcoming space where everyone is supported to feel at home.

❗️ EXCITING NEWS! ❗️

At the Homestead, we are constantly looking for ways to improve our services and support the needs of our community. In response to feedback from our clients, we are considering extending our operating hours to include Saturdays- alongside our current Monday to Friday schedule.

This additional service would be offered in addition to the days already attended during the week, not as a replacement.

The cost of the service will be the same as weekdays and we will offer the same activities and outings.

🎄✨ Festive Fun at The Homestead! ✨🎄

Our wonderful clients have been getting into the Christmas spirit this week with a very special activity — decorating their own Christmas cakes! 🍰🎨

Everyone put so much love and creativity into their designs, and the finished cakes looked absolutely beautiful. After decorating, each cake was carefully wrapped as a gift, ready to bring joy to someone special this holiday season. 🎁❤️

We were also delighted to welcome the local primary school choir, who filled the centre with the sound of Christmas hymns. Their beautiful singing brought smiles, memories, and a lovely sense of togetherness. 🎶✨

It was a heart-warming day full of festive cheer, shared stories, and community spirit. We’re so proud of our amazing group!

🎄A Busy November & December at The Homestead! 🎄

What a wonderful few weeks we've had here at our day centre in Rugeley — filled with laughter, creativity, and festive spirit!

✨ International Men’s Day
We celebrated the amazing men in our lives by sharing our favourite inspirational male figures and enjoying a delicious afternoon tea together. A lovely day of stories, smiles, and good company.

🎭 A Trip to the Theatre
Our visit to Rugeley Theatre to watch Robin Hood was a huge hit! Lots of laughs, lots of cheers, and a great day out for everyone.

💌 Special Birthday Cards
We proudly created handmade cards for a local gentleman in Rugeley who is turning 100! Our clients put so much care into every message — a beautiful moment of community kindness.

🍪 Festive Treats & Baking Fun
The Christmas spirit is in full swing as we rolled up our sleeves to make peppermint creams, Christmas biscuits, and mince pies. The centre has never smelled so delicious!

🌸 Christmas Floral Arrangements
Our clients also enjoyed getting creative with beautiful Christmas floral arrangements — a wonderful way to bring colour and joy into the centre.

🎄 Decorating Ornaments
Nothing says Christmas like ornaments! We had a lovely time decorating our own festive creations to brighten the centre and take home.

🚐 We’re Hiring: Minibus Driver (Job Share) 🧡

The Homestead Day Centre is looking for a reliable and caring Minibus Driver to join our team in a job share role with our current driver.

Hours:

One week on / One week off

Monday to Friday

9:00am to 11:00am and 3:00pm to 4:30/5:00pm

You’ll be helping our lovely clients travel to and from the day centre, so a warm and supportive attitude is essential. A DBS check will be required if successful.
