Measles is highly infectious and can be passed on even before a rash appears. More than 3 million unvaccinated children are at risk of catching measles.

Make sure your child is protected from becoming seriously unwell from measles by making sure they are up to date with their MMR vaccinations.

Millions of eligible people will be offered a COVID-19 and flu vaccine from 11 September, in line with the latest expert guidance on the new COVID-19 variant.

This change follows an announcement by the Department of Health and Social Care and the UK Health Security Agency on the risks presented by the new BA.2.86 variant.

Residents of older adult care homes and those most at risk including those who are immunosuppressed will receive their COVID-19 vaccine first.

Carers, pregnant women, and health and social care staff will all be among the groups to be offered a COVID-19 jab this winter, as well as adults aged 65 and over.

Wherever possible, vaccinations for flu and COVID-19 will still be offered at the same time.

If you receive an invite, please come forward to get your protection against COVID-19 and flu as soon as possible.

You don’t need a GP's referral or GP's permission to have a free flu jab. If you do have a free flu jab with us, we’ll let your GP know.
Those eligible for a free NHS Flu Vaccine this winter are:
* those aged 65 years and over (including if you are 65 by 31 March 2024)
* those aged 6 months to under 65 years in clinical risk groups, suffering from chronic illnesses
* Diabetes
* Asthma (treated with a preventer inhaler)
* COPD or other long-term lung condition
* A long-term heart condition
* Kidney or liver disease
* A neurological condition such as Parkinsons disease, motor neurone disease or MS
* A learning disability
* A Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40 or more (severely overweight)
* pregnant women
* those in long-stay residential care homes
* carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person
* close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
* frontline workers in a social care setting without an employer led occupational health scheme
