A little update on my Penelope π Day 75 and our miracle is making progress every single day. Weβve had so many hard and terrifying times, but also some moments of relief and thankfulness. Today she worked hard on building her strength on her left arm, she is determined to get it moving (so she can use her iPad again). She is finding the motivation to keep pushing forward and has the resilience to stay focused on her recovery. Penelope is adjusting and at times we struggle to come to terms with our new way of life, but we remain grateful that we are here π Still a very long journey ahead, and new challenges we face as we move towards our new chapter in life. Her ability to accept and adapt to such a difficult and heartbreaking reality is a reflection of her character and the amazing little girl she as always been. We are adjusting and learning together how we can navigate through this. Surrounded by the best people in the world at Alder Hey, I just know she will overcome anything that is thrown her way. I know we will face many obstacles and emotions on her path to recovery, but she is surrounded by support and love. I donβt know what the future holds but we are here and thankful as ever. Thank you everyone for all your support and love, we tell her every kind message we receive, it brings her so much happiness and comfort.
Yesterday we went outside. She was beyond happy just to see a bus pass by, to see people walking in the park. Even the rain made her smile. Here is a picture of her smiling we wanted to share with you all. Thanks again, I mean that with all my heart, I donβt think I could have handled this without knowing there are kind people out there in this world willing to help and support my Penelope when she comes home π
