The term ‘Sexual Health’ is widely regarded as just maintaining your physical health and the possible effects of unsafe s*x. However, it actually covers mental, social and emotional wellbeing as well and these can be negatively affected by our s*xual lives.

As we commemorate World Mental Health Day, we want to remind you it’s okay not to be okay and our Sexual Health Hubs are always open for confidential conversations to hopefully put your mind at ease.

According to Breast Cancer UK, there are around 56,000 new cases of breast cancer every year: that’s over 150 cases every day.

Like other cancers, breast cancer is most easily treated when found early. Checking your breasts regularly helps you spot any changes quickly.

For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’d love for you to remember the TLC method- touch, look, check:

Touch your breasts – can you feel anything unusual?
Look at your breasts – are there any changes to shape or texture?
Check anything unusual with your doctor.

PrEP helps significantly reduce the risk of contracting HIV and you can get it for FREE from our Sexual Health Hubs.

This is mainly for people at high risk of HIV such as men who have s*x with men as well as trans and non-binary people.

While proven to be very effective, it’s vital it’s taken correctly so that sufficient levels are in the bloodstream if HIV enters the person’s body.

As young people navigate through the world, the topic of s*xual health becomes more and more important.

As we celebrate International Youth Day, it’s an ample opportunity to highlight the importance of partaking in safe s*xual practices. Common STI’s such as chlamydia are most common amongst those aged 15-24.

This makes it vital to regularly get tested for these diseases as if they are left untreated, they can have serious health implications.
