Today, we pause to remember Toby Finnett.

And it feels especially fitting that on this day we can share some incredible news:

The Toby Project- founded by the Finnett family in his memory- has just this week smashed through the £100,000 mark. 💥🎉 That is over £100,000 in direct frontline work supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people through music.

This milestone means more young people will get timely, meaningful help and the chance to express themselves, feel safe, and begin to rebuild.

Our heartfelt thanks to Paul, Amanda, Ann, Benjamin and Kai for building a legacy that continues to open doors for other young people.

What. A. Night! 🙏🍾 🥂 🎶
We were extremely proud and grateful to once again be the chosen beneficiary of the Joint Natural Resources Committee’s Energy Market Dinner, now in its second year.

Hosted at the historic Merchant Taylors’ Hall in The City, the evening was a huge celebration of the energy industry and its commitment to giving back — with generous support for The Toby Project at Waves Music Therapy.

Our heartfelt thanks to Paul Finnett and Amanda Finnett who founded The Toby Project with Waves in memory of their son Toby. Their dedication has enabled hundreds of children to access music therapy support in Toby’s name; a legacy that continues to change lives.

We’re also incredibly grateful to trustees Emma Alexandra and Chimmy Ngoma, who represented Waves with such energy and enthusiasm.

This continued partnership with JNRC means more children and young people with complex mental health needs will access meaningful support that changes lives.

Thank you to everyone who made the Energy Market Dinner such a success.

Total raised: to be announced…

We are one hour into our sponsored silence here at East Preston Junior School and what an incredible job the children are doing!

We’re staying quiet today to stand with young people who find it hard to speak because of anxiety, trauma, or additional needs. Music therapy offers them a powerful way to connect and express themselves when words aren’t enough.

All funds raised will go towards music therapy for children in need — and will stay right here at the school. Thank you for supporting this important work. 🎵💙

We’re taking on a Sponsored Silence to raise money with Waves Music Therapy. It’s a fun challenge about communication, creativity, and mental health, helping children explore new ways to express themselves and raising funds for vital music therapy.

Today we celebrate the birthdays of two people who are very important to Waves Music Therapy. 🙌
Toby Finnett, in whose name The Toby Project exists, supporting young people to access life changing music sessions. The Toby Project has already raised over £60,000 and reached hundreds of young people in memory of Toby. 🙏 We pause to thank, and think of his family and celebrate the life and legacy of Toby.
The other birthday we celebrate is our brilliant Ruth Spencer , our finance manager, the force that keeps Waves going and fulfilling our mission that music therapy should be accessible to all. We are so grateful to you both 🌟

We're thrilled to announce that the incredible charity, George's Rockstars, is taking over the music therapy post we established on Bluefin Ward at Worthing Hospital! This ensures sustainable music therapy for children and young people for years to come. George’s RockStars brings smiles to children in hospitals through the power of music therapy, all in memory of Gorgeous George. 🎶✨
