Primary Care Occupational Therapy Service

Occupational therapists are based in the practice. They offer a service to people aged over 16.

Occupational therapists (OTs) help people who have noticed that the everyday activities that they need or want to do are starting to become more difficult due to changes in their physical or mental health.

This could include activities at home (getting in the bath, getting dressed, cooking dinner, enjoying your hobbies), managing work (paid or unpaid, education, caring roles) or getting out and about in your community (travelling, shopping, socialising).

Information about how primary care occupational therapists may be able to help you and how to refer yourself is available here:

Today marks the begining of National Smile Month!

Key messages for great oral health

During National Smile Month, we are promoting four key messages for better oral health:

*Brush your teeth for two minutes, last thing at night and at one other time during the day, with a fluoride toothpaste.
*Use mouthwash and clean between your teeth with interdental brushes or floss every day.
*Cut down on how much sugar you have, and how often you have it.

Did you know that today is National Receptionists Day?? Shout out to all the receptionists you come in to contact with who do an amazing job!

Observed in Australia, Canada, UK and US on the second Wednesday in May, this is a day Of recognition for the front-line personnel in business. You only get one chance to make a good first impression and that is the unique job of a receptionist.

This day was inaugurated in 1991 by Jennifer Alexander to recognize the special role that receptionists play and to distinguish their skills from that of an admin or secretary.
