We are looking for caring and reliable Bank Night Staff to join our friendly team at Merrydale Residential Home.

Shifts are on an as-and-when basis, working night shifts from 8pm–8am, with the possibility of permanent contracted hours in the future.

What we’re looking for:
💙Ideally NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care.
💙Medication training is desirable.
💙Experience in residential or dementia care is beneficial.
💙Reliable, kind, and committed to providing high-quality care to residents.

Today the residents have created a Valentine's Day themed picture, they decided to call it 'Loved and Lost', with residents putting the names of their husbands down 🥹💕 Thank you Debbie for supporting our Residents through what can be a challenging time ❤️

🚧 Road Closure Alert (NEXT WEEK) – Beech Grove to Northwood Drive 🚧

Just when we thought we’d got away without a visit from one of these “road closed” signs (because let’s face it, most roads on the Island seem to be closed these days!) – here we are....

When: Monday, 19th January, for approx 3 working days
Time: 7:30am – 4:00pm
Vehicle access: Not allowed (emergency vehicles only)
Pedestrian access: Please park nearby and walk to Merrydale – but be aware you won’t be able to get past the works on foot either.

Thanks for bearing with us – we promise it’s just a short detour and we’ll still be here to welcome you with open arms and a hot drink!

🌟 We’re looking for Bank Care Assistants 🌟

We currently have opportunities for Bank staff to join our lovely team here at Merrydale Residential Home in Ryde. Shifts include both days and nights, and there may be the chance to move into a permanent role in the future.

Ideally you’ll have NVQ Level 2 or 3 and/or be medication trained, but full training and uniform are provided.

If you’re kind, reliable and enjoy supporting older adults to live well, we’d love to hear from you 💛

We had such a wonderful afternoon celebrating together, with a huge thank you to Maurice, who brought the perfect mix of festive cheer. From singing along to getting everyone up dancing, he really made the afternoon special and put smiles on so many faces 😊

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so enjoyable , residents, staff and visitors alike 🥰

We had such a lovely afternoon yesterday when the TrebleMakers IOW came in to see our residents. The children sang beautifully, shared stories, and spent time chatting, which meant the world to everyone here.

It was a really warm, happy visit and we’re so grateful they chose to come back to Merrydale this year. Thank you to all the children (and the adults who support them!) for bringing so much festive joy into our home 🥰

We look forward to seeing you again soon and a very Merry Christmas from all of us at Merrydale! 💙

We were absolutely delighted to receive another beautiful donation of Christmas gifts for our residents from Macie & Dana 🎄💛

This is now the fifth year they’ve done this – every December they arrive with armfuls of presents, big smiles, and so much kindness. It really does mean the world to everyone here at Merrydale.

Thank you both for thinking of our residents year after year. Your generosity brings so much joy and festive warmth into our home – and we are so grateful 🥰

A very festive morning at Merrydale today! 🎄🎨 Pom-poms, pine cones, glitter everywhere… and Ginge, proudly acting as Head of Supervision 😺✨

Our residents made the sweetest cards and decorations, and the smiles say it all, nothing beats a cosy crafting day (with a little help from Ginge) to get us in the Christmas spirit! ❤️🎅

This morning the residents have begun their Christmas Creations! With the help of our lovely Debbie, the residents made their own little biscuit houses 🏡🎄

Plus... our weekly visit from the sweetest puppies 🥰
