🐻 New Date for Our Teddy Bear Picnic! 🧺

Merrydale's Teddy Bear Picnic has been rescheduled to Thursday 22nd August! 🗓️

Bring along your favourite cuddly friend (best dressed wins a prize!) and join us for an afternoon of fun, games, sandwiches, and sunshine (fingers crossed!) 🌤️

Family and friends of Merrydale residents are all welcome – please let a member of staff know as soon as possible if you’ll be joining us so we can make sure there's enough cake to go round! 🎂🍓

We’re going to be rescheduling our much-loved Teddy Bear Picnic, a new date will be announced in the next couple of days!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we want to make sure everyone has the chance to join us for this special day of fun, treats, and a little bit of Merrydale magic!

We’re so grateful for the time, care, and creativity that’s gone into it and it’s already bringing smiles to our staff and residents alike. What a wonderful way to brighten up our home and garden 💛🌸

A wonderful afternoon with Rodney, Dave & Helen! With songs from the Musical, Annie Get Your Gun, the staff enjoyed it just as much as the residents did, followed by a wonderful cream tea, with strawberries, homemade scones and a little tipple! ☀️

Thank you to Rodney, Dave & Helen for your endless entertainment, a big thank you to Debbie for arranging the Cream Tea for the residents, and Phyl our cook for the wonderful scones!😁

It's not every day you find a couple of horses at your front door! 🐴

We were lucky to have a visit from Abi and Nicky, two lovely ladies who own Arty & Merry (very appropriate!), who took time out of their day to come and visit us, we had planned to be out in the sunshine in the garden but the drizzly rain said otherwise!

Merry came in for a quick lap around to see everyone in the lounge, then went outside to the front door for fusses and carrots!

Thank you ladies for the wonderful experience right at our front doorstep! 🐴🥰

Taking a trip to Italy without leaving the house! 🥘🥖

Debbie our Activities Coordinator and our Chef, Mark, worked together to put on a wonderful Italian themed evening for the residents, complete with pasta, plenty of garlic, wine and tiramisu!

As you can see, happy smiley faces all round! It was enjoyed by all, thank you!🥰

We’re excited to welcome past and present families of Merrydale residents to join us for a joyful morning in the garden on Friday 1st August from 10:45am onwards!

🌟 Enjoy live entertainment from the brilliant Maurice Kachuk (11am–12 noon) – a wonderful tap dancer, signer, and all-round entertainer

🍰 Picnic boxes, cakes, scones, and of course… ice creams!

🎲 Games and fun for everyone – bring your favourite teddy and your best picnic vibes!

We can’t wait to see you there! 💚

📉 £1.4 million in funding has been cut
⚠️ That’s a 40% loss by 2026/7
🛏️ End-of-life care services could be devastated
