🚧🚧HEADS UP - 2026 🚧🚧

An extensive road closure on Elenor’s Grove in the Fishbourne to Ryde direction is scheduled from February 2 to April 10, 2026. The closure is for mains replacement work by Southern Water as part of a larger project.

Details of the closure
Dates: February 2 to April 10, 2026.

Affected area: Elenors Grove will be closed in the direction of Fishbourne to Ryde.

Reason for closure: Southern Water is conducting a major pipe replacement. Some of the cast iron water pipes in the area date back to 1866 and need to be replaced with more reliable plastic ones.

What to expect: Southern Water and Island Roads have worked to minimize disruption, but traffic disruption is still expected. The company has stated it is communicating with affected residents and businesses and that public drop-in events were to be announced before the end of 2025.
