We regularly catch up with some of our residents to hear what they’d like to see more of at Ryde House Group. After a recent suggestion, we invited ‘Really Awesome Coffee’ to visit us yesterday in their mobile coffee van.

Residents and staff loved spending some time in the sun, enjoying a coffee, a few treats, and a good chat ☀️☕️

A big thank you to Really Awesome Coffee - Isle of Wight for coming along - we hope to see you again soon!

We’re proud to share an exclusive first sneak-peek review of an incredible new book by author Kate Arnold — “This Life Is Still Mine.” Through a deeply personal and emotional lens, the book which collates a number of beautifully crafted poems, offers a powerful look into life with Friedreich’s Ataxia, sharing the challenges, resilience, and humanity behind the diagnosis. It’s certainly a 5 star review from us. Check this out on Amazon. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️

We’re so proud of our amazing colleague Laura, who is literally taking to the skies this August for an incredible cause. Just days before what would have been her mum’s birthday, Laura will be completing a wing walk to raise funds for Mountbatten Isle of Wight💛

Laura is supporting a cause close to her heart. After experiencing the care Mountbatten provided to her mum in her final days, Laura is determined to give back. She’s aiming to raise funds to help Mountbatten continue their vital work.

Every donation will help make a difference - and if you can’t donate, a share can go a long way too.

Let’s cheer Laura on as she takes fundraising to new heights for such a meaningful cause! ✈️💛

We took to the pitch today in a fantastic charity football tournament alongside Isle of Wight NHS Trust, Milford Del Support Agency Ltd, and Maximus Support Services!

It was an amazing day where companies, employees, and the people we support came together for some friendly competition - all in the name of raising funds for some brilliant causes.

We're proud to share that we’ve raised a great amount for charity with donations still rolling in! You can still support us by donating here: https://gofund.me/52d79cfd 💛

Our chosen charity was AIM Autism Inclusion Matters IOW, and we’ll soon be sharing a full update on the total raised once all donations are consolidated, and all the chosen charities who will benefit from it.

🙏Massive thanks to everyone who helped make the day such a success. Special shout-outs to Joe Hancott, our incredible volunteer referee! and Keith Johnson Photography, who captured all the action on camera 📸And of course, to everyone who donated, supported, and cheered from the sidelines.

It was a brilliant day of fun, football, and community spirit - and without a doubt, something we hope to make an annual event. Stay tuned for the final fundraising total and more photos from the day soon!

After last year’s flat walk, George completed half of Walk the Wight this year - and did something even more incredible along the way. For the first time ever, he took his jumper off while walking outside. It might sound like a small thing, but for George, it’s a huge milestone. He’s always relied on his jumper to help manage transitions - it’s his way of making sense of whether he’s inside or outside, and it’s a comfort for him. Joe who completed the walk with George said "To see him feel confident and comfortable enough to take it off during the walk, is honestly something I’m more proud of than even the distance he covered."
Progress looks different for everyone, and at Walk the Wight, George took a huge step forward 💙

One of our incredible team members, Linda Southwell, is taking on an extraordinary challenge – walking 1250 miles from Canterbury to Rome – all to support a vital cause close to her heart ♥️

Linda and her husband Paul are doing this for Teddy Ward, a brave 2 year old diagnosed with a life-limiting mitochondrial disease caused by a rare genetic defect. Their walk is raising crucial funds for research and support for families affected by those rare diseases.

Help them make a difference. Every donation counts and goes directly toward vital research. Support Linda and Paul here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/linda-southwell-1727433732344
