We’re so proud of our amazing colleague Laura, who is literally taking to the skies this August for an incredible cause. Just days before what would have been her mum’s birthday, Laura will be completing a wing walk to raise funds for Mountbatten Isle of Wight💛

Laura is supporting a cause close to her heart. After experiencing the care Mountbatten provided to her mum in her final days, Laura is determined to give back. She’s aiming to raise funds to help Mountbatten continue their vital work.

Every donation will help make a difference - and if you can’t donate, a share can go a long way too.

Let’s cheer Laura on as she takes fundraising to new heights for such a meaningful cause! ✈️💛

We took to the pitch today in a fantastic charity football tournament alongside Isle of Wight NHS Trust, Milford Del Support Agency Ltd, and Maximus Support Services!

It was an amazing day where companies, employees, and the people we support came together for some friendly competition - all in the name of raising funds for some brilliant causes.

We're proud to share that we’ve raised a great amount for charity with donations still rolling in! You can still support us by donating here: https://gofund.me/52d79cfd 💛

Our chosen charity was AIM Autism Inclusion Matters IOW, and we’ll soon be sharing a full update on the total raised once all donations are consolidated, and all the chosen charities who will benefit from it.

🙏Massive thanks to everyone who helped make the day such a success. Special shout-outs to Joe Hancott, our incredible volunteer referee! and Keith Johnson Photography, who captured all the action on camera 📸And of course, to everyone who donated, supported, and cheered from the sidelines.

It was a brilliant day of fun, football, and community spirit - and without a doubt, something we hope to make an annual event. Stay tuned for the final fundraising total and more photos from the day soon!

After last year’s flat walk, George completed half of Walk the Wight this year - and did something even more incredible along the way. For the first time ever, he took his jumper off while walking outside. It might sound like a small thing, but for George, it’s a huge milestone. He’s always relied on his jumper to help manage transitions - it’s his way of making sense of whether he’s inside or outside, and it’s a comfort for him. Joe who completed the walk with George said "To see him feel confident and comfortable enough to take it off during the walk, is honestly something I’m more proud of than even the distance he covered."
Progress looks different for everyone, and at Walk the Wight, George took a huge step forward 💙

One of our incredible team members, Linda Southwell, is taking on an extraordinary challenge – walking 1250 miles from Canterbury to Rome – all to support a vital cause close to her heart ♥️

Linda and her husband Paul are doing this for Teddy Ward, a brave 2 year old diagnosed with a life-limiting mitochondrial disease caused by a rare genetic defect. Their walk is raising crucial funds for research and support for families affected by those rare diseases.

Help them make a difference. Every donation counts and goes directly toward vital research. Support Linda and Paul here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/linda-southwell-1727433732344

It was a pleasure to host The Isle of Wight College a few weeks ago and to hear about the amazing progress the people we support are making! At Ryde House Group, we’re dedicated to person-centred care, and the college plays a key role in helping individuals learn, grow, and gain independence.

Through our partnership, the people we support access tailored courses, develop practical skills, and build confidence in a supportive environment. By working together, we create an approach that empowers them both at home and in the classroom. We are proud to collaborate for brighter futures!

Once a month, individuals that we support come together for a night of music, dancing, and all-round good fun - and our most recent disco did not disappoint! 🥳

🪩Our brilliant in-house DJ - who's also one of our amazing support workers - kept the energy high and the crowd laughing all night. These evenings mean so much to everyone involved: a chance to see familiar faces, make new friends, and simply have a good time 🪩

A huge shoutout to all the staff who help make this happen each time - from organising transport and setting up, to offering support throughout the evening🌟🕺💃

We were absolutely delighted to receive a lovely surprise this Easter! 🐣

Ryde Academy offered their students the chance to swap the usual £1 m***i day fee for an Easter Egg instead - and the response was amazing! These generous donations were then passed on through a partnership with Ryde Town Council who kindly reached out to us💛

We were thrilled to receive a phone call offering Easter Eggs for everyone we support here at Ryde House Group. What a wonderful gesture that brought smiles, excitement, and plenty of chocolatey joy to our homes!

A huge THANK YOU to the students of Ryde Academy, Ryde Council, and everyone involved in this heartwarming act of kindness. 🍫

Elinor will be walking 10,000 steps a day from 26th March to 2nd April in support of the Autism Initiatives, a charity dedicated to creating a world where autistic individuals receive the support they need to thrive.

Let’s cheer Elinor on and help her reach her fundraising goal! Any donation, big or small, will make a huge difference. Click the link below to offer your support:

George and Dan enjoyed their first holidays since moving to Ryde House, each overcoming personal challenges. Dan, with us for nearly 10 years, once thought a holiday was impossible - but he had the time of his life, especially loving the hot tub. George, who used to run everywhere, making support difficult, has made huge progress - last year, he completed Walk the Wight at a lovely pace. This week, he had a great holiday, opening the door to bigger adventures. Both had a fantastic time, and we’re excited for what’s next!
