with apologies; Facebook seem to have lost out two most recent entries. Normal service will be restored as soon as I can work out what is going on.

'The Gregorian Missal For Sundays', published in 1990, shows how newer books can also often benefit from repairs and restoration after much heavy use.

This volume has been completely rebound with new covers and spine. New lettering has been created for the spine and I have added sewn in book-marks to replace the origional ribbons which tend to get frayed over time.

'The Survey Gazetteer Of The British Isles', edited by J.G. Bartholomew F.R.S.E., F.R.G.S., published in 1904, was looking tired and dog-eared when brought to the bindery.

By re-building the spine but retaining the origional covers, the end result is a cleaner looking and solid book which should last for many more years.

If you have elderly but much loved books which you think might benefit from sympathetic repairs, please do not hesitate to contact us for no obligation advice and a quote.

This book: 'F. White & Co's Warwickshire', dating from 1874, was in a poor condition when brought into the bindery by a client who was keen to arrest it's deterioration and wanted to know if we could help.

By taking the volume apart, re-sewing the pages and building a new spine, we have achieved what was required and the finished product is a solid and robust book which should see many more years of use.

By re-attaching the origional covers and firmly fixing the outer layer of the origional spine, with it's lettering, over the new one, the character of an old book has not been lost. This should look good on the client's bookshelf.
