Go fund me message from Danni Rothery

Like many, I have seen the posts from Sam and his group, and other groups like RenoDrain, showing the support and effort they have put in to protecting our community from further flood damage.

They have been out all evening several evenings, facing the rain to unclog drains and clearing debri to try and prevent further flooding and damage to our local homes and businesses.

This has touched many of us as an incredible act of community, and Sam’s posts and updates have inspired many more to join the effort, bringing out a wonderful community spirt which has been amazing to see.

There are a million other things I’d rather do than spend all night clearing dirty drains, but these guys have put themselves out there for the sake of all of us.

This go fund me is for anyone like me who thinks these guys deserve someone to buy them a beer, or some other small token to show our appreciation.

update: I’m aware there is more than one team out there! We will endeavour to find out all the key people organising the support efforts and let them distribute the funding, hopefully enough for a round of drinks or towards a meal, or whatever they decide.

Hold a parliamentary vote on whether to reject amendments to the IHR 2005

We are concerned that Parliament has not discussed and will not have a say on the 307 proposed amendments to the International Health Regulations, AND the amendments to 5 Articles of the IHR that were ADOPTED by the 75th World Health Assembly on 27 May 2022.

The amendments that were adopted on 27 May 2022 have not been debated in or voted on by Parliament. The UK has the authority to reject them under Article 61 of the IHR, but any such rejection must be within 18 months of their adoption.

Parliament must be given the opportunity to vote on whether to reject the amendments that have already been adopted, and also the 307 proposed amendments that are currently being negotiated by the UK delegates to the 76th World Health Assembly. The UK has not proposed any of the 307 amendments.

And with the rise of Apple and Google Pay, vulnerable people who rely on cash are increasingly being left behind by the relentless march of technology.

More than five million adults still rely on cash in the UK and it’s used in six billion transactions every year, but there are strong vested interests pushing for it to be permanently replaced by debit and credit cards and other electronic payments. These cost you more in the long-run and enable 3rd parties to track you and your spending.

I call on the Government to introduce legislation to protect the status of cash as legal tender and as a widely accepted means of payment in the UK until at least 2050.

Don't Kill Cash

Everyone needs to make more effort to use Cash or we will lose it very soon.

The whole card business benefitted and benefits no-one but banks. They ensure people live outside of thier means bringing debt and misery. Business are in a catch 22 with cards as less footfall is derived from being a cash only business.
Vibe Tribe was a cash business which also maintained low pricing because I did not have to pass on all these costs to customers.
Something I think people forget is they pay to use thier cards. It is an expensive business indeed and businesses have to be prepared for credit card use by customers. Credit Cards deduct £££'s not pence from transactions. Several hitting businesses at thier rate of £4.56 per transaction.
That is the fee deducted for thier card been used. Then there is the Terminal monthly charge, The Internet charge to power it, the handling charges from the banks.
The whole card transaction is one big joke.

It may well be that you think cards or tapping your phone is easier but we are ALL being ripped off by the banks for using them and losing Cash is no joke at all.

Do your own research into the CDC ( Central Digital Currency System) Sunak keeps speaking about. This is the Social Crediting System they control the Chinese People with. There will be no more MONEY as you understand it but your wages will be allocated vouchers / credits each one secured against a purchase the Government says you can spend it on.
Life is going to get increasingly harder not easier if you keep using plastic and tapping phones.

We already now understand the job losses self service checkouts bring. Stop blindly using these AI systems thinking your life is easy and think about the consequences of keep being screwed over..😕
