The launch of our new Corporate Sponsorship Programme

A new month brings a new initiative for our Charity! For the first time we have engaged the dedicated support of a group of local sponsors through the launch of our new corporate sponsorship programme. It is with huge thanks that we can now acknowledge the generosity of Kiley's Karpets, W Tollett, DWD, Morfeys Removals and ABS Blinds as the pioneers of our new programme. The funds which they donate each year will not only be used to secure top prizes for our Annual Grand Raffle, but will also provide for additional prizes at our popular Quiz Nights and other events. Through their commitment to our Charity, our sponsors are helping us to increase our fundraising capability to continue to support our local hospital and the Hub on Rye Hill. The Leslie Fitch Scholarship was set up last autumn to give financial support to postgraduate students wishing to study for a second clinical degree.

The Charity is pleased to offer the same scholarship opportunity to eligible candidates for study from September 2026. If you or someone you know would like to embark on a second degree in any NHS clinical area, then please submit your application for the academic year 2026-27 when the window opens on Monday 12 January 2026. Our recent Bridge Afternoon and Tea event held at the Hub on Rye Hill on 1st December was another wonderfully successful event, raising approximately £1,000. We would like to thank all those who supported this event by playing or by helping with the organisation or by providing the delicious tea!

We've done it again! Another really successful Quiz Night at the Mermaid last Friday. A huge thank you to all those who took part, to our regular quizmasters, Graham and Tracey, and of course to the Mermaid's staff who made it all possible. We are also incredibly grateful for the nearly £160 worth of raffle prizes which were kindly donated by our local businesses: The Funky Hen Secret Boutique, Marino's, Simply Rye, The Rye Bookshop, Paws'n'Claws and The Herald and Heart. Congratulations to Episode 4 who came first and were very closely followed by The North South Divide and One Short of a Coastguard.

We raised just over £560 which is our best one so far and will go towards our fundraising to purchase a bariatric bed and mattress. We will be holding another Quiz Night in early 2026 so please keep an eye on our socials for more details. Don't be slow booking your table as we had to turn three teams away last week! Happy quizzing everyone 🧐
