In our last session, we explored biological theories of crime. Our main focus was Lombroso and how he believed that criminals had physical traits. We put ourselves into the position of a targeted trait and how we would feel.

Students were very engaged and gave some really great discussions. We even had an individual make the connection that "If we focus on those with brunette hair being the ones to commit crime, we may ignore those with blonde hair entirely and they can continue to do harm" this is such high level thinking and it is so incredible to see such discussions at play within the sessions.

Last session we discussed what peer pressure can look and feel like. Students were able to recognise situations where they may have felt pressured, or it was more difficult to stand out, and could apply this to scenarios where there may be a vulnerability for criminal behaviour.

It has been such a busy few days. Our content for this weeks start has now been finalised. Those of you who have signed up, expect an email tomorrow with zoom details and this is where information will be sent going forward too.

Just been crunching my numbers and JSA has had an amazing 144% increase in sign ups this programme!! So so grateful for every one of you who trust me with your childs education. I am so blessed to be able to work with your children, and this allows me to stay home with mine!

Our next programme begins this Friday!!! If you havent already, get in touch to secure your space. We have a few spaces on Mondays at 0930 but we do have space on Friday at 1130 currently. ❤️

You will see on my posts and adverts that we are also a home educating family. So, what does this look like for us? We follow a semi structured routine, so we dont necessarily look like school, but we do certainly draw upon general curriculum for ideas to ensure progression.

These are a few lessons we have done this week:

-Yesterday, we attended a coffee morning, so our maths venue looked differently, but we still fit in amongst conversation (and maybe a slice of cake!)

-Today, we have decided to start our new project: Gaming. Little one enjoys gaming, so looking at Scratch to develop skills and build knowledge.

-Library trip was also needed. We picked up this weeks books for our learning!
