We need to build bigger communities around people with chronic illness. Too many people can’t participate in most activities and are largely absent Millions Missing Voice while society doesn’t even know they are absent.

If you had the opportunity, would you volunteer to befriend someone in your local community & be part be part of their community network? If so, please let me know in the comments.

You don’t have to relate to empathize, you don’t have to relate to respect that others don’t have the same capabilities or resources.

All you need is to show up for people who need it, largely as a friend, sometimes as an advocate in their moment of need (which comes naturally once you give your self the opportunity to know them)

Limiting chronic illness affects millions of people & it’s only growing, it affects anyone regardless of previous health status & its needs you to be a voice alongside. 🙏🏾

Although ( ) has accelerated research of post viral chronic illness like and - the public is still large unaware of the impact these conditions have on quality of life. Tess Falor and I recently attended the conference, where resesearches and clinicians shared the latest updates, including potential biomarkers and mechanisms for the pathophysiology that turns an acute infection into a lifelong illness(Tess and I live tweeted the entire conference if anyone is interested in learning more). People affected include elite athletes and others who, in general, have taken great care of their bodies and health. Recent research revealed that people who have multiple infections are more likely to suffer from long covid. The prevalent thought for years had been that people with other underlying conditions were the ones most susceptible, yet the research is showing that it may be the other way around, where common infections (EBV, HSV) contribute to the development of other chronic conditions even in people with very mild post acute symptoms. There is a lot of work to be done, some researchers are clinicians are dedicating their careers to solve this massive puzzle, but in the meantime people are suffering by the millions. You may have a family or friend with any of these conditions and need to understand that it is not in their heads, it is not a cry for attention. These conditions VERY REAL, yet not very visible, but finally the research is catching up with what we’ve known and experienced all along. Clinicians like Ysabel V Reyes and Lauren Hedde have worked worked with patients for years and understand how sick and desperate patients can be. When you see someone parking in a handicapped space who looks “perfectly healthy” understand that this person may have very high levels of pain and fatigue that are not apparent. Reach out to friends and family who may be one of the ones affected, just having support Can make a big difference in one’s quality of life.

Some patients’ health-related life quality scores worse than those of people with stage 4 lung cancer

Today is go day for my friends at - I have been watching closely and helping wherever I can as I too have experienced remission events and I am fascinated with the possibility of gaining helpful data to move this research forward. Follow remission biome to get updates on what is learned and see the design of phase 2 based on this data.

Posted • We are ready! Today is the day. 14 and 5 years ago we, and had temporary, but spontaneous remission and a significant increase in baseline after taking antibiotics. We are experimenting to recreate this event with a lot of preparation and testing before, during and after. For a complete timeline and details on the results follow Twitter or go to our website remissionbiome.org
