📣 Gold Street Surgery Update 📣

As our building works are about to get underway, we’re trialling a new, modern way for patients to access appointments, whilst still retaining the 'no wrong door' approach to planning healthcare.

✨ No more 8am rush
✨ Requests reviewed by a clinician
✨ See the right person first time — GP, nurse, pharmacist, physio, mental health worker and more
✨ Continuity of care maintained where appropriate
✨ Priority groups fast‑tracked (eg children under 5, frail or older patients, oncology patients, palliative care and others)

Our aim is to make accessing care simpler, fairer, and quicker for everyone during the building works and where our room availability will be limited — while still ensuring those who need us most are seen promptly.

You may find when calling that there is a change to the way we ask and process the information given to us. Please be assured this is not to be obstructive, but to ensure that you medical needs are addressed in the most timely and convenient way possible.

As the colder whether arrives, so do viruses like colds and flu. Before contacting the GP, please think "pharmacy first", they may be able to help and if they are unable, they will be able to direct you to an alternative service.

A pharmacy service can help with all kinds of ailments; coughs/colds, sore throat, ear infections, mild eczema, impetigo, sinusitis, urinary tract infections.

Please note the Gold Street Surgery site will be closed on Wednesday 8th October from 12:30 for essential electrical work.

Our branch site, School Street Surgery will be used for appointments and collecting prescriptions.

Calls will be answered but please bear with us as there may be some disruption.

We plan for Gold Street Surgery to be open at 8am on Thursday 9th October.
