Pelvic floor basics!

How are those long holds going ladies?? Are we managing 10 seconds properly...or does it slowly disappear off..

And what about the relax between? We want a lovely range of movement in our pelvic floor so the relaxation in between is equally as important.

Some TLC is needed.

Our gut loves a bit of variety, unfortunately the variety that is quality street, mince pies and wine is not the one 😉😂

Trying to get in a great mixture of fruit and veg and pulses will lead to a much happier healthier gut and a happier bowel.

Happy bowel is a winner for a happier pelvic floor 🎊

Now...will my kids eat it...🤔

Those first few weeks post natal can definitely pass in a blur of sleep deprivation, feeding and nappy changes. But there are some simple things that I recommend to help your recovery.

- Rest, as is possible. Whether it's grabbing a nap or just making sure to relax on the couch, it's gives your body a chance to heal.

- Nutrition - get in those healthy meals and snacks. Try avoid to much caffeine and sugar.

-Take some time to focus on your breathing, getting that rib cage expanding which will help us connect with our pelvic floor

- Crack on with those pelvic floor exercises. Get the to help remind you and keep track.

- Try some gentle exercise, a short walk or some gentle stretches as able

- Avoid constipation - a healthy diet and lots of water helps, regular movement and have a stool to pop your feet up on when emptying your bowels.

What would your top tips be post natal 👇

😳That's a fact. It takes an average of 7 years to seek help for pelvic health conditions!

7 years is a long time to be putting up with symptoms such as leaking and pain and trying to carry on as normal. We should not be waiting that long.

Many of these pelvic health problems are really common and we are here to help.

🔸 Incontinence
🔸 Pelvic pain
🔸 Pressure or heaviness
🔸 and much more.

I am here to listen to your whole story, I'm lucky to have the time and I do want to hear everything (no such think as TMI for a pelvic physio 😉). Let's start your rehab and recovery. No more leaving it so long.

⭐Genitourinary syndrome of lactation (gsl)

This can commonly affect breastfeeding women as their oestrogen levels are affected.

Symptoms are similar to peri and post menopause.

▪️Dryness and irritation

▪️Painful s*x

▪️Urinary urgency or incontinence

The good news is that symptoms typically disappear when you have stopped breastfeeding and hormone levels settle.

But treatments such as Physio, vaginal oestrogen, moisturizers and lubricants can all help symptoms.
