Thinking about booking an online hypnotherapy session but not sure what to expect?
If you're feeling a mixture of curiosity, hope, or if you've booked a session, maybe are thinking a bit of "What have I signed myself up for?", that's completely normal. One of the most common questions I get is "What do I need to do to prepare?"
So here's what actually matters:
Find somewhere private where you won't be interrupted.
This could be a quiet room at home with the door closed, your bedroom, a home office, or even your car parked somewhere safe and quiet. Any space where you feel comfortable closing your eyes and speaking freely. Let anyone you live with know you need uninterrupted time.
Sort your technology beforehand.
Make sure your device, internet connection, and audio are working properly. Click the session link a few minutes early to check everything's set up. If you're nervous about the tech side, we can always do a brief test call beforehand.
Have water nearby.
You might feel a bit dry-mouthed after deep relaxation, so it's helpful to have water within reach.
Wear comfortable clothes.
You'll be sitting for 60-90 minutes, so comfort matters. This isn't a formal appointment so wear whatever feels relaxed and non-restrictive.
You don't need to have it all figured out beforehand.
It's normal to wonder what you'll say or how to explain what's been happening. The conversation will unfold naturally. I'll ask questions that help you articulate what's going on, and we'll work through it together.
Know that feeling nervous is completely normal. Whether you're thinking about booking or you've already booked, feeling anxious about it is natural. Your first session is just the beginning of something, not the whole journey. Just the first step.
