On Thursday 28th August as Deputy Mayor I had the pleasure to attend the opening of The Orchard Nursing Home Therapy Gym. Therapies on Thames- Rehabilitation matters for elderly have partnered with The Orchard to provide rehabilitation from illness or surgery in their care home. Thank you to Natalie and staff for a lovely afternoon.

Whether you're a seasoned knitter or simply love a good chat, our monthly Knit & Natter group is the perfect way to unwind, share stories, and enjoy meaningful moments together. 💖

📅 Held on the last Tuesday of every month, we warmly invite family, friends, and local community members to bring along their yarn or current project and join our residents for a relaxed afternoon of crafting, conversation, and companionship. 🪡🧵

We had the pleasure of welcoming James and Andrew from Phillips Funeral Service to The Orchard Nursing Home last week, who kindly popped in to drop off some lovely donated bubbles 🍾 for our Summer Fair raffle winners! 🎟️🎁

🌸 Summer Garden Party & BBQ at The Orchard Nursing Home 🌸

A huge thank you to all our staff, residents, families, and friends who joined us to make this event so special and memorable. We were honoured to welcome the Mayor and Councillor of the City and District of St Albans, Theresa Heritage, who met with our residents, families, staff, and friends—and even helped pick the winners of our raffle draw! 🎉

We were also delighted to host some wonderful local businesses, including:

We’re so proud to share that through our raffle, tombola stall, Adopt-a-Teddy, BBQ stall, and with donations, we raised over £600 in support of Alzheimer’s Research UK. 💜
