Want to manage your relationship conflict in better ways? It’s not absence of conflict that matters it’s what you learn from conflict about yourself and your partner. How we recover from disagreement is key...

The key to processing an argument is to first talk about what happened to understand what went wrong, how you each were feeling, and what could have prevented the discussion from ending in such a negative way.

Try to understand your partner’s reality and not to argue for your own perspective. Take turns sharing what each other was feeling and what may have triggered those feelings by using the "What Triggered Me?" chart.

Whatever we are letting go of, a loved one, a past activity, or job, or a hope or wish for the future, we feel this emotional response. It’s a natural process of being human... to grieve. It means we have loved. 💕

A Meditation on Grief   When after heavy rain the storm clouds disperse, is it not that they’ve wept themselves clear to the end? —Ghalib Grief is one of the heart’s natural responses to loss. When we grieve we allow ourselves to feel the truth of our pain, the measure of betrayal or tragedy ...

“We are going through a collective trauma, that is bringing up profound grief, loss, panic over livelihoods, panic over loss of lives of loved ones. People's nervous systems are barely coping with the sense of threat and vigilance for safety, or alternating with feeling numb and frozen and shutting down in response to it all.”

"As a trauma psychologist, I am utterly utterly horrified, enraged, and bewildered about how people can believe and spread this phrase in good conscience."

The Fragile Narcissist; we may know them or we may be them. This is an interesting lesser known personality type that can be just as destructive to relationships as the better known malignant Narcissist.

To many, narcissistic traits may seem easy to recognize. But narcissism may also be present without the qualities that characterize some of its stereotypes.

Ever wondered what is the purpose of my life?
An existential crisis is often at the root of emotional struggles such as anxiety or depression. We question our meaning and purpose and yearn to feel our life is of value. Modern life is often devoid of purposeful activity and we can feel empty or alone.
Ironically there are many people using the coronavirus constraints as a way to find meaning in our day to day life:
Greater appreciation of good health
Helping others who are vulnerable
Reaching out to connect with loved ones
Staying home for a greater good
Time to ponder our future goals

It’s worth taking this time to reflect on what’s important to us.
