Today is Social Prescribers Day, and we want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful social prescribing team at the surgery 💚

Social prescribers play such an important role in supporting our patients beyond traditional medical care.
They take the time to listen, understand what really matters to each individual, and help connect people with local services, groups, and support that can improve their wellbeing. Whether that’s help with loneliness, mental health, finances, housing, or staying active.

Your compassion, dedication, and ability to make a real difference in people’s lives does not go unnoticed. Thank you for everything you do to support our patients and our community every single day.

Today is Young Carers Action Day 💙

A young carer is someone under 18 who helps look after a family member who is ill, disabled, or needs extra support. Many young carers do an amazing job every day, but they also need support.

At our surgery, we want to help.

If a young carer registers with us by completing a Carer Pack, we can record that they are a carer on our system. This helps our team understand their situation and offer the right support. When appropriate, we can also record that they are able to discuss the person’s medical care with us.

We can also refer young carers to Carers in Herts, who offer lots of helpful support, including:
• Young carer activity days
• Support and advice
• Discounts in some shops
• A Young Carer Health Journal to help track health and wellbeing

If you know a young carer or think someone in your family might be one, please speak to our team. We are here to help. 💙

Yesterday we said goodbye to our wonderful secretary Sue, as she made the difficult decision to hang up her secretary hat and retire. 💙

Sue joined The Lodge Health Partnership in 2020 during lockdown after 15 years at Hertfordshire Clinic/Maltings Surgery. Despite starting in such an unusual time, she quickly felt like part of the family. As Sue shared, “The highlight has definitely been being part of the RHC/LHP team, who are so supportive and wonderful. I’ve made many good friends who I’m sure I’ll keep in touch with.”

Sue’s professionalism, knowledge and kindness have helped shape our Secretarial Team. As Kate said, “From the day Sue joined, it felt as though I’d known her forever. I’m proud to call her my friend. Her professionalism and dedication have made our team what it is today.”

Alongside her hard work, Sue will also be remembered for the laughter, especially the daily PopMaster debates and cries of “One Year Out!” 🎶

Sue, thank you for everything you’ve brought to the team. You will be truly missed, and we wish you every happiness in your well-deserved retirement. 🌷
