Step into greater confidence with Reiki, expand your intuition, and learn to work with distance healing and sacred symbols.

🪷The main focus for second degree is continuing your journey of self development.

🪷In Japanese it is called Okuden meaning the further inner exploration of ourselves.

🪷Reiki Second Degree introduces the student to 3 symbols. Creating a bridge to wholeness.

🪷The Reiki symbols are simply graphical representations of different aspects of energy, a way of representing and emphasising what is already there.

🪷At Second Degree, the prime focus of Reiki is still your self-healing, and the first two symbols are there to help you get to grips with two important energies that will further or deepen your self-healing.

🪷Putting the ‘distant healing’ symbol to one side, the other two symbols represent the energies of earth ki and heavenly ki, and we need to fully assimilate these two energies to enhance our self-healing and self-development.

🪷If we are going to use these energies when we hold space for other people, it makes sense to become thoroughly familiar with these energies, to have spent time ‘becoming’ these energies. After receiving the symbols it’s always good to familiarise yourself with them through a meditation practice.

🪷The third Reiki symbol that you are introduced to on a Second Degree course is commonly called the ‘distant healing symbol’.

🪷Distant healing is possible at First Degree level and we do not need to use a symbol in order to offer Reiki to another person: intent is enough. But using this symbol can help us to learn to better ‘click’ into a nice strong merged state.

✨ What is a Reiki Attunement? ✨

A Reiki attunement is a sacred initiation ✨part of the Reiki system ✨ that opens your energy channels and connects you more deeply with universal life force energy.

Here’s what it involves:

✨Energetic Transmission –
The Reiki Master uses symbols, breath, intention, and hand placements to awaken and expand the energy flow.

✨Spiritual Alignment –
Often described as being “plugged in” to Reiki energy.

✨Purification –
Clearing of old patterns, emotions, and blockages.

✨Lifelong Connection –
Reiki stays with you permanently and strengthens through practice.

✨Unique Experience –
Some feel heat, tingling, colors, or visions… others feel subtle peace. There’s no “right” way, it’s very individual.

💫 You are already part of this beautiful universal energy before an attunement.

Each attunement that you experience helps you move closer to realigning body, mind, heart, and spirit.

🌄 Mikao Usui, Mount Kurama & the Roots of Reiki 🌸

Reiki was born from a moment of profound awakening. Its founder, Mikao Usui, spent years searching for a way to cultivate healing that touched both body and spirit.

His path led him to Mount Kurama, a sacred mountain near Kyoto known for its temples, ascetic practices, and connection to Amida Nyorai (Amitābha Buddha) — the Buddha of Infinite Light and Compassion.

✨ The 21-Day Retreat
Usui undertook a traditional spiritual discipline there: fasting, chanting, and meditating in nature. This echoes the practices of Tendai Buddhism and Shugendō (mountain asceticism) — both of which emphasize deep meditation, purification, and opening to divine energy.

On the 21st day, Usui experienced a great illumination: a direct encounter with universal life-force energy that which we call Reiki.

From that moment on, he was able to channel this healing energy through his hands.

🌸 Buddhist Influences in Reiki

Although Reiki is not a Buddhist practice, it carries the essence of what surrounded Usui:

• Amida Nyorai’s light and compassion mirror the way Reiki feels as a luminous, loving energy.

• The Reiki Precepts (“Just for today…”) echo Buddhist teachings on mindfulness, compassion, and simplicity.

• Meditation and presence lie at the heart of Reiki practice, just as they do in Buddhism.

This coming December I’m teaching Level 1 Reiki also known as Shoden in Japanese.

I’ve got limited spaces available so if you feel like joining a Reiki class please do get in touch.

I intentionally keep my classes to a limited small attendance so that I can offer everyone my full attention.

Once you have completed the weekend you are invited to a private WhatsApp group where I am able to continue to support you as part of a Reiki community.

Going through all my photos I came across these iconic memories of when I travelled to Egypt.

Almost 19 years ago I walked amongst the great Egyptian temples not realising the significance of this experience.

Now as I return to a path of deep remembrance where I remember myself as an Oracle these photos hold so much more meaning.

I’m almost coming to the completion of a two year spiral 🌀 developing and remembering this ancient oracle art that connects us to the divine aspects of our true self.

A priestess path that I have awakened to - that my higher self has guided me to, that the ancient lands and energy centres on earth have drawn me to.

Quite honestly it’s magical in every way.

To all those who have come to experience this oracle work with me on zoom - your feedback and your willingness to open to something unusual but extraordinary has completely blown me away.

Thank you to all those who said yes to a goddess oracle experience with me whilst I’ve been in training.

This quilt has so much meaning for me…

I started it two years ago whilst my mum was in hospital.

I visited her every day for many months and it gave us both something to focus on whilst she was going through a difficult time.

She picked the colours, and I stitched each piece by hand. We spent hours together while I sewed, and every patch holds part of that time we spent together.

I sewed the last patch on whilst sitting with her before she passed away.

For me quilting is so therapeutic - especially when the fabric holds energetic memories and as I stitch each piece by hand my mums being is forever infused into the quilt.

It’s a meditation, a prayer and a blessing to now continue to finish this quilt in her memory.

It gives me a focus as I process the deep grief that comes after a loved one has passed.

It’s healing and it’s meaningful.

As raw as this blue lapis that my mother held in her hand last month - I now share my heart 💙

It’s still fresh in my consciousness as I reflect on my recent experience of walking my mother through the process of transitioning into the afterlife.

I will never underestimate the incredible power that comes when you totally trust and call in the remembrance of the sacred.

All the healing tools become an extension of the energy field and where spirit and matter merge into oneness.

As I moved my hands through my mother’s aura with the sacred oil and played my chalice bowl whilst singing the Reiki symbols I lost myself in the moment…

And as I lost myself in the moment - my mother moved gently out of her body like it was the most natural process ever to occur.

She gave me the opportunity to doula her soul and I am deeply humbled by this.

I’ve been working with Reiki and crystals for so long now but never have I ever experienced such a profound shift that brought me so close to the light of the divine than what I experienced in the last 7 days with my mum.

May my mothers soul continue to rise and be held by the grace of that which we have so many names for 🪽🪽🪽
