We are recruiting for Ambulance Care Assistants to join our rapidly growing team. If you have experience of caring for people, great customer care and communication skills with the public, then we would love to hear from you. We will provide successful candidates with their FREC3 & ACA training for this full time position.

Job Role:
* Responsible for the care and safe transportation of non-emergency PTS patients.
* Ensuring timely transportation to and from appointments at hospitals, treatment centres, day units or other places of care.
* Making sure that patients are comfortable and secure at all times
* Cleaning the ambulance, making sure all patient equipment is working and restocking supplies
* Carrying out a daily inspection of the ambulance, checking tyres, petrol, oil and water.
* Full training and induction will be provided

Do you have what it takes to become an Ambulance Care Assistant?

We are looking at running a FREC3 course with our training partners ALR Training, for candidates who would like to join our Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) Team.

Job Summary:
The main purpose of ACA role is to safely transport patients with varying mobilities to and from treatment centres or other venues as directed. This could include manual handling of patients, the care of patients and assisting patients, as well as driving.

• Administer basic first aid and oxygen as required during the course of work; drive PTS vehicles and cars or assist drivers in transporting patients.
• Place patients on stretchers / in wheelchairs, and assist / load patients into ambulances, usually with assistance from other attendants; assist patients into the vehicle, such as assisting them to stand for a wheelchair.
• Complete all necessary vehicle and journey documentation.
• Ensure that the home environment is adequately secured after the departure of the patient and upon their return.
• Ensure the vehicle and associated equipment is in a safe and clean condition at all times, reporting any defects to the appropriate manager

Essential / Experience:
• At least 2 years experience of driving with a full manual UK driving license - (No more than 3 endorsement points)
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Minimum of GCSE – Maths & English Grade C or above
• To be flexible, approachable, calm, enthusiastic, honest and have integrity
• A caring attitude towards patients and the ability to show empathy
