T O P T I P 💤 When should I teach my baby to self-settle?
The truth is, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer.
Start with what feels right for your family, not what anyone else is doing. Every baby (and every parent) is different.
The benefit of self-settling is that your little one learns to link their sleep cycles on their own, which often leads to longer stretches of deeper, better-quality sleep for everyone. ✨
You can begin laying the groundwork whenever you feel ready by gently giving your baby opportunities to fall asleep without always feeding, rocking, or being held.
If you’re thinking about making bigger changes to your baby’s sleep, around 4–6 months can be a helpful time to start. But it’s never too late if you wait until they are older!
The most important answer is simple: the right time is when it feels right for your family. ✅
Self-settling doesn’t mean leaving your baby to cry it out. It’s about gradually and lovingly helping them build the confidence to feel calm and secure in their own sleep space.
