Yoga has been a part of my life for over 24 years, and my practise has helped me grow stronger, more flexible and fearless both on and off my mat. After suffering from panic attacks in my early twenties, I discovered yoga classes at my local village hall. Yoga really helped me to live each moment more mindfully. By learning how to meditate, to do yoga postures and breathing exercises I became more aware of my self; I’d let go of fear and anxiety and was able to be more mindfully present in each moment. Because yoga had such a positive impact upon my own life, I wanted to share Yoga with others. In 2003 I took my Teacher Training course and in 2006 I went on to complete my Advanced Teacher Training Course, both at Ashrams with The Sivananda Vedanta Centre. I continue to attend workshops, regular classes and retreats to broaden my knowledge. I will always be a student of yoga and am deeply grateful for the loving wisdom my teachers have shared with me. I’m now fortunate enough to be able to share my experience of yoga with many different walks of life. It’s a truly wonderful experience to create a space where people can come along, roll out their mat, let go and breathe and find out a bit more about themselves. By listening to their body, mind and breath and connecting all of these elements during their practise they leave feeling more positive, centred, stronger and relaxed. I’m a firm believer in making my classes accessible to every body. You don’t need to be a certain age or shape, you don’t need to be flexible already. Just come along with an open mind and the desire to discover how you feel, not how to accomplish. But to make peace with whom you are and, to create space where you were once stuck and have fun!
